Being 32 years old...I spent most of my childhood collecting and listening to CD's. By the late 90's I had lost interest in buying/discovering new music. I came to realise that I was totally uninspired/disinterested in buying CD's. No pride of ownership, poor value for money and neglible replay value.
Records have reignited my love of music. I've turned into a true collector and share my enthusiasm with friends. I have people round for listening sessions!
Nice doc so far! I'll come in next time I'm in the south bay area. Are their bargain bins?
In case you didn't know, Village Music in Mill Valley CA closed over a year ago after more than 50 years in business. As he was near the final day of business, the owner(John) said "Well, at least we out-lived Tower Records..."
Best thing about collecting vinyl and having these kind of hole in the wall shops is that you have freaks like this bearded guy running them. lol. It is great. They are always cool as heck! You can build long relationships with them, they keep their eye out for things for you, and they know their stuff.
Not like walking into some Best Buy and getting some 19 yr old who only has a few Creed Cds trying to "help me with music" lol... no slam on Creed ..I love them, but you know what I mean!
Even if I download a song on the internet and listen to it all day, I still don't feel I really "have" it until I find it on vinyl... I like when the guy says "vinyl is blood"
I'm a recent convert to LP's.

the last thing he said, about the percentages, i declared aloud- "SO DAMN TRUE!"
the audio quality of vinyl is unsurpassable, you can not beat it.
anyone who says differently has obviously never compared it to different mediums
