  • Pas mal, je crois qu'il faut toujours un pallié de la nullité absolue, c'est fait ; et en plus c'est drôle !

  • Ouch.

  • what language is that

  • @ImmaculateRecovery It's supposed to be German. But her rendition sounds like a dog yapping in pain.

  • OMGLOL im in stitches, is this real :P

  • Wonder what the accompanist thought...

  • @cel1644

i saw souviner last night (a comedy about florence jenkins) its narrorated by her accompinist... long story short he thought she was horrible

  • pitch perfect, or should that be puke perfect?

  • ew!

  • gosh... i need a cigarette....

  • Just stunning.

  • At 1.29 I felt compelled to go out and buy a sofa so I could hide behind it. As it is, I'm just limited clenching my buttocks!

At least the piano's in tune.

  • Y NO ME DIGAN QUE ES POR SER SOPRANO!!! NO PEGA UNA NOTA!!!!

  • "People may say I can't sing, but no one can ever say I did not sing" <3

  • WUNDERBAR!! it was years that i was looking for that!!

  • ¡TRANSFORMISTAS DEL MUNDO UNÍOS !!!...¡¡¡ URGENTE HAGAN UN NÚMERO CON ESTO!!!

  • круто

  • @DIMETRIOR страшно

  • Florence Foster Jenkins was one of the world's worst singers; she was also one of the greatest.

Only those who understand, can understand!

  • @Musicolette Would you tell me if there´s a proyect of a film or a musical about the life of the worst lyiric singer of the history...? Is she ? or there´s another worst singer ???

  • @Montanarus - There are many "worst" singers but Florence Foster Jenkins was the most famous.

Lots of information is available about her life. A good start might be to type her name into Google

  • Ladra la gorda!!!

  • @erten2 ¡¡¡¡ PATAPÚFETE, CÓMO PEGA LA GORDA !!!!!

  • @erten2 ¡¡¡ patapúfete cómo pega la gorda!!!!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I'm gonna kill myself!!!!!!

  • ke alguien la mate x favor... :s ke orror de mujer, no a dao 1 nota bien :s

  • love this so much. makes it even better that she genuinely believed she was talented! she was in a taxi crash or something like that, but didn't sue because she could sing "a higher F than ever before" :L

  • @derangedyoshi

Even better - she sent the taxi driver a box of cigars with a letter of thanks!!

  • I knew German was a beautiful language all along.

  • she is the real Queen of the Night(mare).

  • (????) [!]

  • I love it! :D

  • this is even better at 2 am xDD

  • Not only can she sing, but she's a hot as hell. What more can a man ask for: Voice, Talent, stunning good looks and wealthy. I Would've been in there. Honest

  • @ChazsmateIII hahahaha...marvelous reply...great! I love her too.

  • As bad as she is, she's still better than Justin Bieber.

  • If only they had invented Autotune back then, she'd sound like many of the female pop singers today. With the response time cranked up to 20 milliseconds and tweaking any notes that jump the wrong way, she would have today's (maybe tomorrow's?) synthesized sound. I do miss hearing the real human singing voice these days.

  • ......T.T

  • It reminds me of a cat...

  • she sounds like a constipated trumpet in those high staccato phrases, just hilarious really

  • This is the worst ever!!! Worst than a friend of mine singing this...

  • I have discovered which language she sings! It's an (horrible in my opinion) italian version of "Der holle rache", called "Gli angui d'inferno". Here's the lyrics: Gli angui d'inferno sentomi nel petto! Ciel! L'orrendo mio voto ascolta, o ciel!
  • @3F93 Wow... they just had to mess with the lovely German language on top of it all :-)

  • jajaj Hacerte fama por masacrar esta pieza jejej

  • ow...wow...this hurts my soul...and I love this song >__<

  • Oh, BRAVO!!! Once more with feeling!!!

  • @Morgteck dont encourage that

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!! OH HELL NO..lol

  • she is the pride of my town Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

  • hahahahahaha

omg, i feel bad for the pianist who has to attempt to follow her

and i can't understand her words, they all just kinda blur into one vowel of "oaaoaoaiiaaaaooaoooooaaaa"

  • What a piece of garbage this fucking woman was. I would have beat her to a pulp just for opening her fat mouth.

You fuckin cunt, I am gonna find your grave and dig you up and slap your skull all over the place.

  • @cuttock not nice....

  • fuck

    it's terrible!

  • Ouch

  • My dog prefers this version over all others.

  • @grixic78 hahahaha :D

  • O...M...G

  • She is just barely (and I use the term loosely) "good" enough for the aria to be recognizable, but bad enough for it to be funny. I'd like to have heard Maria Callas try to strike such a delicate balance :p

  • Her famous quote: "They all said I couldn't sing....but no one could say I didn't."

She filled Carnegie Hall (mostly friends or people who wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

  • Her famous quote: "They all said I couldn't sing....but no one could say I didn't."

She filled Carnegie Hall (mostly friends or people who wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

  • She did it for the lulz.....

  • ROFL LMFAO omg! I actually LOVE this rofl @ her sounding like a dog on the difficult coloratura passages omg. This is so classic. What a legend

  • it's terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol ! je n'ai jamais entendu quelque chose d'aussi mauvais !

  • Is this available on Amazon? I want to buy all her albums, hah!!!

  • Florence Jenkins FTW!!

  • What grace! What fluidity! Very on-key! She hits every note!

  • Yes, and they're still recovering, some 80 years later

  • LOL

  • Ah, Florence. Such a tragic aspiration. How relatable is her story? Yeah, definitely applicable to numerous aspects of the music scene. For this reason I admire her; this much will only sound cliche, but instead of morbidly embracing her flaws she created her own benign example of a utopia and I am astonished at her confidence and optimism. Healthier than leveling out optimism and pessimism in my view. Realism scares me,haha.

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah yet nowadays everyone popular sings like that, they are called R&B Singers.

  • Win.

She might not have been good, but really, I like to imagine she knew she wasn't, but her not being good was a success, so she kept at it, playing her audience for a sap while they watched her failure.

After all, she did lay down the gem "People can say that I couldn't sing, but no one can say that I didn't sing"...

  • I...don't even know how to respond to this...

  • It's like a whining puppy.

  • Lol. Very entertaining :)

  • Well, we all can have an off day................

  • lllllllllllove uuuuu! haha;)

  • this pianist sucks! but miraculous Flo is a true miracle (of nature) ;))))))))))

  • Where do you think Miranda got her inspiration!

  • if music was about hitting every note perfectly we could jsut autotune everything.. I admire florence and "outsider" musicians for not caring what others definition of music is

  • @younghippo Yes, how dare they set a standard of things that sound good being music!

  • @younghippo Ok then, let's think that all the music is high quality. Wake up, man, what should do people with perfect pitches? You think that everybody could be a singer, without studying musicology? Ok then! Let's everybody record our voices and get the fuckin money for making music!!

  • I'm laughing so hard right now! I love Florence. :D

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • Great, poor pianist ;-)

  • Apparently he would occasionally change keys mid-concert to follow her. Talk about an amazing accompanist.

  • @Susan0StoHelit talk about skill! :-)

  • ROFLMFAO omg hahaha...from listening to Edda Moser's version (which to me is easily the best) and then this...WOW lmao PMSL

  • Oh my god!

I'd rather listen to a bunch of drunken karaoke singers!

Or maybe to a small child being tortured.

  • @SkivMarine Oh, come on, why? =) I never grew tired of it.

I cry to tears every time.

  • @hypshine

There IS a certain morbid fascination. Sort of like hanging out in a morgue.

    It's so awful it's good.

  • @hypshine I cry as well - tears of laughter.

  • oooo...M.G. this is ....

  • This is brilliant and strangely addicting!!! I'm kinda embarrassed to be listening to this though

  • thank god she was born in the later birth of electronic invention so that we can hear the world famous tone death soprano today.

  • Well, she hit ONE of those high C's. I'll give that to her. Never quite reached that F. Poor girl. She is so amusing! I love it.

  • @meganmichele you sound like you were giving away autographs half an hour ago relax...

  • @cooki3hop Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it. I always tend to sound like that just to make people think I'm a pretentious snob. You're so spot on. It's like you really know me!

(btw, the song is known for those Cs and Fs. It's a small little musical term relax...)

  • @meganmichele no problem! usually i would expect another answer!

  • lmao, I think I sounded like this one time when I drunk sang

  • T_T

  • LOL awesome! This is going on my facebook!

  • thank you! florence always makes my day!

  • I know the song's in german and all but I have absolutely no idea what she's singing! lol in the piano bit in the middle it sounds like the pianist trying to speed things up a bit xx

  • @TigerLuver2k10 That doesn't matter - she also had no idea what she's singing.

  • Brilliant.

  • Better than a lot of music nowadays.

    [/grumpy old fogy]

  • I couldn't have sung it better myself ! Although, wait a minute...

  • well i did make it through the first minute.

  • Mrs. Jenkins is simultaneously an argument both for and against the idea of confiscatory taxation of inheritance.

  • bhwa hahahahahaha!!!!!

  • Her impersonation of a strangled cat is absolutely extraordinary.

  • Hey- do i know you? ;-)

  • 0:18 OMG looooool PMSL!

  • Well there is nothing like a good opera performance. And that was nothing like a good opera performance. :)

  • you need to be the best pianist at world, to company something like this

  • For me, this was WAY worst than watching 2 girls 1 cup, or the pain olympics.

  • your dog can easily replicate this performance if you stomp its tail hard enough. remember to wear safety boots for best performance.

  • i want to listen to this every time i take a crap from now on

  • I really thought that somebody thought a dog to sing, and that`s what I`d been listening to. It cannot be a parrot. It would have better diction.

  • She makes me feel good about my singing abilities.

  • She might not have sung well... but no one can say that she DIDN'T sing... Jenkins vs Critics: 1-0

  • OMG! Is she shaving the beard?

  • When they labelled this as a "Faust Travesty" they weren't kidding. Imagine the poor musicians who had to play for her and be subjected to this.

  • Great piano performance!

  • Florence Foster Jenkins was one of the worlds worst singers. She was also one of the greatest.

Those who do not understand, cannot understand!

  • @sisterspure Make that one of the worst singers with a much better reputation than today's so-called "wannabes" (and she was definitely not ashamed of it :D )

  • I have to listen with a headphone because I don't want my neighbors to think that I'm singing.

  • @cecikierk I play this loud with the intent for my neighbors to hear it. She has SUCH a beautiful voice!!!!!!

  • @cecikierk Hahahaha...how funny. Goodmorning!

  • @cecikierk Hahaha...great humor!!!! Jenkins...I love you!

  • Hasta la garganta me dolio de escucharla jajaja

  • Regardless of what you think of the late Mrs Kenkins, she has surely secured a place in the history books :)

On a side note a few times she actually hits the notes! They believe she had an ear condition but will we ever know? Likely not, which is half the fun lol. I can happily say that I sing only marginally better than Mrs Jenkins.

  • Just listen to the "Idol" try outs. So many people think they can sing & sound well. For all beginning singers: What you hear is NOT what we hear. Learn the difference.

  • Wow look at you, Mr or Mrs Macho. Bravo sir or madam, bravo!

  • Köstlich......die Dame hat echten Unterhaltungswert ;-)))

  • She sounds like 'Fifi' from Sunday in the Park with George in her coloratura. Also, she sounds like I'd rather hear 5 factory whistles blowing next to my ear than go to a concert of hers paying a ticket.

  • She's horrible and animal sounding..silly. I don't think I even sound like this when I'm not trying.

  • Holy hell, this makes my voice hurt just listening to her.

It is also beyond hilarious, though I think my ears have decided to forsake me and crawl off the sides of my head.

  • Oh. Dear. God.

  • Der Holle Rache/ The vengeance of hell.

  • I've heard a macaw sing Queen of the Night better than this.

  • from wikipedia: her accompanist, Mr. Cosmé McMoon, who reportedly made faces at Jenkins behind her back to get laughs.

  • Wow. Apparently the idea with this recording was to smoke a shit load of crack. I don't care how much this sold, this is a fucking joke. It sounds like someone trained their mentally handicapped parrot to sing this song while drunkard plays the piano. I'm a hautecontre and I can sign this better if I had my head in a lead bag that was immersed in molten lava. And, yes, I realize the lead would melt.

  • funny troll is funny

  • It's even funnier that you think I'm joking. Don't tell me you actually think this is good? Then again you do make videos for Rock Band...so that explains a lot.

  • lol you just confirmed my suspicions that you are indeed a troll.. but no i never said it was good i just know you talk like every troll ive ever seen and now youre insulting my videos too.. and no i knew you werent joking.. and furthermore i havent made a single rockband video yet.. if it looked like rockband it was a theme for frets on fire

  • its amzing :D hahha ^^

  • HAHA !!!

  • que cosaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa jajajaja

  • The cat being strangled feels ashamed - but this piece is the very essence of enterteinment! No one can't argue against it not being art because so many enjoy listening this ;)

  • Good Lord. LMAO. Nothing funnier than someone totally delusional about their "talent". She was ahead of her time. She would have been perfect as one of the first round loons you see on American Idol.

  • very very funny

  • i love how the pianist goes the normal speed every moment she's not singing!

  • He's thinking "Oh God, let's get this over with."

  • Hahahaha!!! It is very fun!!! Hahaha!!!

  • She sold a lots of records. It was RCA Red Seal, the most expensive label at the time. You need some variety in life and she fit in perfectly during the era of many great singers who were never satisfied with their own singing including Caruso. She was very happy with her own singing. It was harder to get a ticket for her concert at Carnegie Hall than World Series ticket.

  • it sounds like someone kicking a dog....

  • Bravo, bravo, Madame Jenkins! You were truly awesome!

  • Every once in a while she actually hits the right note. Like one time in ten.

  • And to think, about 70 years on or so, British people are having to endure this all over again, except with two of them this time! Thanks 'Jedward'!

  • she insists on doing what she's passionate about and found happiness in it. there are few people that are as confident as her when it comes to interpreting their art/ music all because of the social benchmark we have on how "good" music should sound like... yadayada....

    i admire her. :)

  • y era su aria favorita jajajajajaj q tal donde no

  • ha ha ha...so freaking hilarious!

  • I thought torture is forbidden. This is against my human rights...

  • This must be from the part where they show what Faust had to listen to after the Devil got his soul.

  • Florence would be pleased that her voice lives on...

  • Ah! The Will Hung of the early 1900's!

  • 2:27 aaaaaaaahahahaah KILL ME !!! :D

  • it 's awful... =/

  • this is... no, this can't be true.

  • J'adoooooooooooooooore !!!! Ca rassure les nuls !

  • 1:04.. glorious..

  • Ms. Jenkins was a genius in her own way.

  • I agree. Most geniuses are considered insane...

  • Considering Florence's delusions the woman must have been a narcissist.

  • This is like watching a car crash in slow motion.
