First off, if you have trouble running WoW, throw your PC right out the entrance of your cave and move on to creating fire...If you have trouble running EQ2, i guess i kinda understand, the graphics are 10 fold better than WoW, but no where near should it be giving your trouble on max plane/flora/effects. That being said I've been playing WoW for about 3 years (about half of the time i've spent on EQ1/2 with over 7-8 years.) i have a shit load more to say, but im out of characters WoW>EQ2

I ran WoW Maxed out at 1600x1200 the day it came out on my Radeon 9800. I can run it today maxed out at 2560x1600 8xAA at 60FPS (vSync on). EQ2 can still make my computer weep.

it plays a little differently than WoW. imo, i think WoW has better PvP but eq2 has WAY better PVE....quest lines and raids for example. I think EQ2's graphics are better, its not so cartoony.

the pvp system is much better for eq2 there is much more to do in it there isnt just "pvp armor" theres "shard armor" "tso gear" "sets from 1-80" etc etc and the character development is insane.

I tried WoW and got my toon to lvl 74 till i said thats enuff. I couldnt stand it anymore. I went back to EQ2 and never left the game. Its much morebetter than WoW as far as content, charactors, quests, etc and the housing is awesome. Also the community is much more mature. WOW is number one because they sink so much money into advertisement. Sony unfortunately doesn't spend a dime on advertising EQ2, if they did so many more people would see how superior it is. Also, WOW's graphics and play cater to a younger audience which obviously are who primarily plays computer games.

That bieng said...its not my top game. I liked the idea they had when they launched of basic starter classes then choosing your exact class later...Like in Aion now. Personally Id like to see a mmorpg do this: you start with a basic character...with alot of customization options. Then as you lvl you get options of what abilities you want. Maybe dual wield...or shield ability etc ...then another level you choose between a heal/atk spell/buff or somethig. That way you have full control.

I was a long time eq 1 player...i also played COH,Vg,WOW,EQ2,Aion beta,UO, etc etc..and i have to say that the reason wow is rated number one and has 10-11 million subscriptions is only cause they plaster thier name everywhere and spend millions in ads. And they may get sales for it but they also attract all the immature likds swearing and trying to act big. Eq2 doesnt spend much in ads and they have a much more adult community that actually allows you to play the game instead of harass you .

I've played mostly all major MMO's and from what i've seen, EQ2 is probably the best so far (maybe with exception of UO). For casual gamers there's nothing like EQ2.. Whoever says, WoW is better for casual, has not played it long enough. There's much more to do and explore for casual player in EQ2 than WoW. And WoW haven't changed much since release (it did for the worse imho), while EQ2 has evolved a lot for better. I've been playing both since release. But that's my oppinion.

I am still playing eq2. The server pops go up and down usually down close towards the end of the year and up again when a new expansion comes out. Crushbone and Antonia Bayle have heavy server populations. I also play on Test server for fun. They are uploading new content constantly. We're do for a mini expansion (game update) the end of this month, and with it will come new world events. Last GU was in April.

WoW is a very accesible game I wouldn't at all call it bad. It has it's ups and downs just as any game does and its extremely appealing to the casual gamer.

I would however say that if you're really into your MMOs that EQ2 is the place to be.

It's easy to get into, don't get me wrong, but the possibilities are endless once you understand the mechanics.

I played EQ2 since launch. Back in Feb 09 I decided to leave due to life not allowing the hours EQ needed. I recently started WOW and find that it is very good, like you said, for the casual gamer. There is a LOT more solo content then EQ.

The only major issue with WOW is the graphics and with EQ is the fact they do not mass market. If EQ marketed better, they would be the top game IMHO

First off douche bag, this is Everquest 2. Second, The graphics in EQ2 blast WoW's out of the water. Play the trial of EQ2 and crank the settings up to extreme (Assuming you don't have a total piece of garbage computer). WoW is too cartoony and the raids suck.
