my brother played against him in the state championship game in high school...he rushed for 400 yards in that game....i hated him when he was in high school cause their team were our rivals but i love him now
I think going to the NFL was stupid...he didnt get drafted at all and is only on the practice team of the texans. If he stayed his last year he could have easily became Notre Dame's all time rusher. Maybe the record would have gotten him farther in the NFL.
You won't be when our next quarterback gets drilled to the ground without a palatable backfield blocker or checkdown/screen pass option next year. Fortunately for Quinn, those were two things that Darius precociously mastered in his short but sweet tenure, and those young sophomores and freshmen haven't shown anything--at least, not yet--that would merit their immediate crowning over him.
darius was good, and it would be nice to have gotten him back next year, the experience would have been great. but it wouldnt be rare to see one or more of the young guys fill his shoes and then some. before the 2005 season no one cared about quinn, walker, or jeff s. in one season they climbed the ranks as cfb elites. dont count the irish out in 07.
Darius, we will miss you. Good luck in the NFL. Make the ND Nation proud and get those last four classes ASAP - lol - then MBA. You are a good guy and a tribute to your family, and the ND family.
