the same thing happened to my 320gb white ps3, it froze when i was playing black ops, when i turned it on there was no tv signal and none of my controllers would sync with and after about a minute it would completely shut down, not even the red light would show. after about a few seconds i could turn it back on but it would do the same thing. at one piont i actualy hade the yellow light of death but after about 10 more atempts at getting it going it started working again

take it apart and put the hard drive in all the way and if u did that and it is still doing that then your hard drive is corrupted.u need a new hard drive then.happens to me I dropped it and that happend to me.peel off the feet off the bottom and take out the screws and it will come apart.it's easy.{good luck}. ~{-€£¥•¥£€-}~

You probaly droped it or something or the hard drive isn't in all the way. I would think that the cords plugged in the back of the PS3 hold heat in so maby thats helps get Ylod. I recommend going in the PS3 recovery menu and format it then rebuild the database.

It's happened to me a few times. If you hold the power button for a while it will reboot. Or definitely try a different hdmi or av lead. The slims are a lot more robust than the fatter ps3's and clean them once a month with a Hoover. don't get an Xbox for Christ sake. Lol

PS3 slim still does get YLOD but its less common because it has smaller parts and its obviously smaller so its less common because it doesn't overheat as much as its older brother did.

GUYS YOU CAN FiX THIS! When you connect yoir ps3 to a different tv it wont reconize it. Therefore, nothing comes up om the screen. You just need to hold down the power button until it beeps once. Then it works.
To be honest no matter how long you play the console isn't the main factor. It is when the console breaks under the warranty that is the factor. I've had my ps3 slim for a year and a half now, never had any problems. It sits on the lower shelf of a wood cabinet (there's no back on the cabinet, which is 2 1/2 inches from the wall) sitting right in the center 10 cm from the back wall, 3 inches from one cabinet on left side, 4 inches away from my Wii on the right side, and nothing in front. @chafe2923 YLOD never gets to the XMB, it comes on and then goes yellow after about 2 seconds. I have had it. YLOD doesn't let the system boot up properly which means that the HDD doesn't boot up right away. That is why the system doesn't come on instantly. This is why the HDD light didn't come on.

GUYS YOU CAN FiX THIS! When you connect yoir ps3 to a different tv it wont reconize it. Therefore, nothing comes up om the screen. You just need to hold down the power button until it beeps once. Then it works.

To be honest no matter how long you play the console isn't the main factor. It is when the console breaks under the warranty that is the factor. After watching some videos it has become apparent to me that many people who get the PS3 as a gift, obviously don't have the receipt, as it would be rude to provide a receipt saying how much you had spent on someone. But sony refuses to repair consoles tha have broken in under a year of the date of manufacture when you have no recepit, serial no's sony?

I've had my ps3 slim for a year and a half now, never had any problems. It sits on the lower shelf of a wood cabinet (there's no back on the cabinet, which is 2 1/2 inches from the wall) sitting right in the center 10 cm from the back wall, 3 inches from one cabinet on left side, 4 inches away from my Wii on the right side, and nothing in front. In short, I wanted it protected but did all I could to give it space to breathe, and if it gets hot I give it a rest. Never any probs and I love it dea

YLOD comes from Tight Spaces no fresh air getting to it or sitting side ways up! i have mine i played it more then 24 hrs a day its still lives because its in a open space! with air movement

if you have 2 TV`s one plasma and one fat you need to reset it every time you switch from plasma to fat because it saves the tv setting from the plasma to fix this you need to hold the on/off button until you hear a second beep thumbs up if it helps

@chafe2923 YLOD never gets to the XMB, it comes on and then goes yellow after about 2 seconds. I have had it. YLOD doesn't let the system boot up properly which means that the HDD doesn't boot up right away. That is why the system doesn't come on instantly. This is why the HDD light didn't come on.
