Thanks for posting a great video (series). While watching the head gasket replacement vids I thought: "This guy is pretty cool." However, the Honda Free Happy Dance video sealed the deal... you are the coolest guy on You Tube (well maybe the BBQ Pit Boys got you by a little).

How long did the whole process take? Did bleeding the air from the coolant fix the engine rev problem?

@sjbl1962 Actually the rev problem was due to an intake manifold leak. There was an irregularity in the joining surface that took some doing to get sealed up.

Its your FIV Valve, you have to take it off and turn the plastic knob inside of it.....Its called the Fast Idle Valve its on the Intake Manifold. Check you Haynes Manual for removal but theres for brass screws holding the cover on it...take the screws out, you will see a plastic thing inside take a flat head screw driver in the slot and tighten it...that should fix it!

@rpeek Well you have your war dance, your rain dance, your fertility dance ( haven't danced that one in years ) there is a dance for every occasion. Next time before you begin work on a Honda you should prepare for the event by doing a "fix everything at once with no hidden surprises" dance... then you would avoid any unforeseen heart-ache.

That "Happy Dance" was very reminiscent of the "Empty Garage" dance we have over here in Finland. Perhaps the Finns took it over to Escanaba with them :-)
