Seems pretty obvious, they want Apple's share of the market. People are more willing to switch if they don't lose anything. Which means if Microsoft can get people using their apps on the iOS platform, it makes people more willing to switch to their platform. If all you favorite apps are getting updates and work better on a particular platform, with hardware is just as well equipped and cheaper, what reasons do you have to stay?

I also think the new release of iOS5 was a contemplation of Microsoft and Apple's relationship by having Hotmail in the Mail app. Like Steve said in the past Microsoft and Apple don't need to be enemy's.

@JaspreetDhanjan It has Hotmail? I never noticed that lol. I just imported the account from my Mac when I upgraded to iOS 5. I never knew they added it as an existing option.
