BUT RD wears the shoes, he is beyond thinking about what people think. Besides are you gonna mess with him? Not if your don't want to end up in the hospital with 1 of the shoes stuck up your ass, and with your Hell's Angels body guards with broken limbs, and their heads stuffed down a toilet.
Proving they are the world's best live band. No one could deny the energy, even if they had never heard of the band before. It's amazing how Who songs sound exactly like the demo, but completely different, and how live they sound exactly like the album, but completely different.
Wow, and Pete comes over and Gives Rog a friendly hip check. Unbelievable 'cause Pete said the song he hated played the most was Sister Disco, becasue "Roger always can over beside him, like we are mates, or something which we aren't"
We came to entertain you, and man are we ever going to fucking entertain you, we're doing what we do best, the best we can, just like you did in your jobs, now let's let loose and have some fucking fun and forget about it all. Pubably one of the best anti-depressants these people had!
@zoobremia I think Zak is much subtler than Keith, but a heard of stampeding elephants being strafed by F-18s, being pursued by surface-to-air missles are subtler than Keith,
as an old fart,I've seen the fantastic who many times, and this was one of their finest gigs, but the best for me would have been at the Hammersmith Odeon in about '72 i think, the crowd were all drunk and stoned, and it was the best i've ever seen them, and the crowd responded like nothing ive seen before or since.but ALWAYS great live where ever they are
The Who are just so psyched in this performance. Stick your earphones in and listen loud - especially for Entwistle's crazily brilliant bass and Zak playing out of his skin. The Who are never better than when they're fired-up playing off the energy and emotions of their audience. Very special.
@drudger6666 Me too. They playing to the converted. The followed The Backstreet Boys.....
All the Emergency folks have spent years in their cars listening to these songs, I bet every single one knew all the words. A real treat, to see the who sing to them. NY loves them, thwy played four or five nights one week at MSG, way bak then, who could that even today. U2?
"We could never follow what you did." What a perfect line by Daltry at the conclusion of that insanely passionate set of Rock'n 'Roll. I was lucky to be there with good friends, meet Bill Clinton, hear and see all those great performances, but this set by The Who blew the roof off the Garden and really got all the cops and firefighters jumping and screaming, it was intense and unforgettable. Glad somebody posted this.
It definitely gets better than that. For example, the audio would include Pete Townsend's guitar.
