This was the last song recorded by Labelle........ Where's the origiInal ? I had this album and it was so clear. This verison is close but i want the vinyl copy from the album Labelle. PLEASE, please, please. People go to concerts to see the Artist perform the recorded verison.... THE SONG they fell in love wth, in their car, in their house..... and when you get to the concert and the artist sang it different, you think .....What ? WHY !!! What the problem is........ The only time I know of Luther singing backup with Patti was on the Burnin LP on a track called "When You Love Somebody". They were both superstars by then so it was more of a guest appearance. He never toured as one of her background singers the way he did with Roberta and others.

This is true for her and all others from back in the day. Remember when they came out there were no Black makeup companies and few could do Black hair which is why they wore wigs. There were fewer moisturizers, sunscreens, and night creams for all races compared to today. Plus there were no restiline and botox. God is good but trust they had surgery. She has admited to a nose job and that pulls your skin a little.

Honestly I can't say that Dians Ross totally slept her way to stardom all the way because she was already talented. And I must admit that I like the Supreme music. But the way Ross and Gordy treated Florence was fucked up. And when I found out from an old interview that Florence did after she was kicked out the group which I heard on this site, was that they gave her $100,000 to buy her out of her contract. You know damn well she was worth more than that. She told them to shove it up their ass.

actually, they bought florence out for $15,000 and made her sign a contract saying that she would never use the fact that she used to be in the Supremes or had any affiliations with the group when she tried to do a solo album. had cindy never left the bluebelles...sarah, nona, and patti would've never morphed into Labelle, and we wouldn't have the patti that we all know and love now. God has a way of working things out...don't you think?

Yeah I agree with eugenehilter09. Florence Ballard was the only one in The Supremes that did keep it real. But I think Mary just wanted to everyone to get along. And Diana Ross was all about fame, fortune, and glamour. She wasn't interested in the friendship that her and the girls built over those years. And every time I see Mary Wilson doing an interview and the reporter ask her would she do a reunion with Diana. Its like a bad taste was put in her mouth when they mention Diana's name.

In this clip, le piece de resistance is when Patti kicks off her prized metallic Christian Louboutin platform shoes. The heels are 5" inches high! I amazed that she can walk in them at all. They range from $600-$1,000 a pair. Let's hope she got them back after the show :=)

If Diana Ross had walked to another part of the stage, as Patti just did, from Mary and Cindy while singing, people would accuse her of trying to "hog the limelight." The reality is that even though Sarah and Nona are talented, they are presenting themselves as "back up singers" while Patti is clearly the superstar. Mary Wilson would NEVER agree to that because of her hatred and jealousy of Diana.

Love the performance but I wish the piano accompaniment was little more "understated." John Stanley's a great accompanist but sometimes less is better. He tends to play as if he's playing for a soloist with lots of melodic "filler." For me, the piano somewhat distracts from the singers and overcharges the bass lines.
