It was a relief to me when I was 15 to hear that the Dead Kennedy's realized that rioting is an act in vain with people just getting hurt or killed in the end.
I hate retards who don't have any image or experience of what it is like to live in these countries are saying shit about people who have made it to the "top" with talent.. it's easy to say when someone made computer and internet for you.
what's goin on in London is this song in action-MORONS with nothing to offer anyone anything except chaos and a piggish sort of media-tagged "anarchy" that only someone from Somalia could really know anything about.
the real names for it are mayhem, chaos, thuggery and bedlam
WTF? You cut off the ending. "Tomorrow you're homeless. Tonight it's a blast! Tomorrow YOU'RE HOMELESS. Tonight it's a blast! TOMORROW YOU'RE HOMELESS. Tonight it's a blast.... TOMORROW YOU'RE HOMELESS. Tonight... it's a blast....?"
@carlbags666 "so you turn right around / play right into their hands / and set your own neighborhood burning to the ground instead". Yeah, I'd say so too.
@hotspur95b You over there Hotspur? Keep updates coming if you are. I have mates in that area... i was hoping it wouldn't spill over from Tottenham. They're olskool hippies, so they've seen it before... but age gives one a disadvantage when that's the sort of shit hitting the fan.
@DizzyTheWyldesage Despite my user name, I'm not from Tottenham! Actually in Scotland. I was just watching in horror along with everyone else. I've a few mates on Facebook in London who were affected tho :S
Rioting-the unbeatable high Adrenalin shoots your nerves to the sky Everyone knows this town is gonna blow And it's all gonna blow right now:. Now you can smash all the windows that you want All you really need are some friends and a rock Throwing a brick never felt so damn good Smash more glass Scream with a laugh And wallow with the crowds Watch them kicking peoples' ass
by fair of this system ofc you mean bill gates making more money than most states in africa.Well if one man is "worth" more than 1 billion people, fair sounds like a shit word to describe it.
@ezekiel1928 that is fair, Bill gates innovated and invented technology that has drastically changed computers. Are you saying that a creative and revolutionary thinker should be making the same money as someone who hasn't invented anything or helped further humanity?
@ezekiel1928 You do realize that he gives a very, very large amount of his money to charity. Even helping countries in Africa with clean water...I understand there's a lot of rich scumbags. But Gates is not one of them. He's actually a very good person.
@metalheadtrevor1 "they [the Marxists] maintain that only a dictatorship—their dictatorship, of course—can create the will of the people, while our answer to this is: No dictatorship can have any other aim but that of self-perpetuation, and it can beget only slavery in the people tolerating it; freedom can be created only by freedom, that is, by a universal rebellion on the part of the people and free organization of the toiling masses from the bottom up."

I totally oppose Communism and Left Wing politics, but I still love this song because of the chaotic element. It's funny because this band was actually quite well liked by some of the guys in Mayhem. I can see how this song might have inspired Mayhem songs like Carnage.
Funny how the whole song is about how ineffective rioting is.
Now organized, disciplined leftwing revolutionary brigades with a clear purpose to SEIZE POWER, I'd love to hear a band sing about that. Any suggestions where to look?
i kind of agree that their ideals are now more oppresive. but is it really any more oppresive than the capitialist system we live in now...maybe its a worth a try to combat what we live in now
My favourite DKs song too, but I wonder do you get it ?
It's not about RIOT.
Tomorrow you're homeless, tonight it's a gas. - THAT'S the point. You riot in your own neighbourhood, destroy that. But the rich cunts are left untouched.
@boojum420 they say "tomorrow your homeless, tonight its a BLAST" not gas. and yes it is about literal rioting. Theyre an 80's band and just like most of the other 80's bands, (most of which weren't nearly as good in my opinion) they were talking about rebelling against society and police brutality.
@Cassiestillyg1 You're correct about the lyrics, but missed the point Booj was making and the point of the song. Booj was saying it's not extolling rioting, it's about the pointlessness of it when you're harming yourself more than those you're supposed to be fighting against. Biafra was quite clear about that both with the lyrics and with comments he's made about the song. The riot is the device in the song, but the POINT of the song is not cutting of your nose to spite your face.
Tomorrow your homeless , tonight is a blast , tomorrow your homeless, tonight is a blast, tommorrow your homelessssss

@cheapy2006 ok, but why now? why dont these young people respect law and order? what has happened in the last 20 years?
pure thuggery? to a point, yes. but there is more to this.
if youve got nothing, youve got nothing to lose.
as for this song, listen carefully, its not a pro riot song, it warns against it, the last lines of the song, although cut short read,
"tomorrow youre homeless, tonight its a blast"
check the full version out.
