I'm thinking of selling my brand new 550d + kit lens to buy a 40d + an L lens or a few lenses, do you think this is a good idea? The 550d feels too plastic-y and small for me, and i have no real need for HD video.. do you think its a good idea?? Thanks :)
@RiOtEmpire777 In terms of image quality, EOS 550D performes better than EOS 40D. On the other hand 40D has better ergonomics and overall user experience. Personally, I wouldn't go from 550D to 40D. Better save some money and go for 60D a bit later.
@RiOtEmpire777 Many say that EOS 50D is one of the worst DSLRs Canon ever made. Image quality at high ISO is worse than with 40D. If only 40D and 50D would be the option, than I would go for 40D, however I still recommend 60D.
@RiOtEmpire777 m Go for the 50d! enaAcom is completly confused and probably reveiwed the d50 before giving you a response. If you have studied professional reviews and opinions the 50d is rated at the top of almost every study. Obviously better than the 40d and in comparisons of durability, fps, and all around handling it takes the win over the 60d. I don't mean to argue- i just want you to make the best decision... If it's not to late!
@RiOtEmpire777 One small piece of advice is to buy a battery grip for you 550d. It will increase the size give the camera more battery life. I have the 550d, and i agree that it does feel ver plastic-y
