i can understand why you dont use a spike/down a move on the stage but what about off the stage. im pretty good with wolf and spiking foes are easy if u know what your doing.
i just wanna say that never using down air would deprive you of some of the most epic kills ever. i got a bunch of replays where i send a bunch of noobs down like a meteor with down air. And it's funny as hell.
imo, up b is best used for an attack. its sorta like fox / falco's side B, exept you have to aim it to the side right after you execute it. it's also much faster than the firefox and less expected. it can also cause your opponent to get stuck in the attack, plus at the end of it launches them upwards opening a variety of combos
hes right. down air is useless off the stage. but on the stage, down air is great. brings them down so u can combo with a down a, down smash, down b, up air, n air, or another down air just to mess with their heads
I'm kind of stuned because I am so used to using Dair. Oh and just a suggestion, you could showed the side B ledge scars, you'll see it on other guides but it could give you another 20 seconds of footage to show.
So I play with a friend and after a while he started using wolf and it got annoying and he spams Forward Smash quiet a bit but I still cant beat him as much as I would like. out 5 matches he will win 3 I would win 2. any tips besides the ones in the vid. The vids good tho I like it. P/s I would like to use wolf to beat him its just that sweeter. lol
sorry, i accidentally deleted someones comment asking about what the most important thing to think about when playing wolf is. id say it depends on who youre playing and what character you are playing against. simce brawl isnt as technically oriented as the other smash games, its all in mind games. no matter who you play as, just try to switch it up, make fast moves and keep your opponent guessing as to whats comming next. dont get hit. air dodge is your best friend.
ya i dont have a usb adaptor so i do occasionally scope the local tourneys but unfortunately the mess nintendo made of their server deters me from going on wifi. but i do play ssb on kaillera for any of you who are interested, i play on west wonderland and emularenagroundsx.
Anyway, once i was playing him online, and this guy (i don't remember who) was at like 140%, and there where 3 of us total, so the other guy punted him up in the air, and i back kicked him in the balls! And that killed him. XD It was an amazing combo. I wish i saved it as a replay...
i dont think it sucks its actualy not that hard to recover with it just wait to your underneath the egde and then do it i know its pretty damn hard to hit the egde angled and just be centimeters from it but thats just wolfs bad thing you might call me a noob but it works for me
Awsome video but about the recovery its ok Ivysaur and Olimar recover can be great if you know how to use it. By the way Falco's B Up recovery is worse.
only time to ever use it is after a dthrow, and you gotta make sure you land behind the person because if they are smart they will be spot dodging you.
Lol LusT03 speaks the truth... all you gotta do is hit your opponent with the little slash that comes out of his claws and you've got a nice edge guarding technique. I KOed many times at almost no percentage using this technique.
ahh i could make one but tbh i kinda stopped playing brawl a lot. its lack of techs/competitiveness is annoying. but well see. i kinda wanna make a video for all the characters cuz its still fun.
very nice, il try it out, i used to be a fox user, almost unbeatable on melee xD but since they really nerfed him in brawl, hes not as good, so im going to try wolf. thanks for the tips; 5/5
Good tutorial, however you did not need to use a camera. If you don't know all you have to do is do some moves, put it on an SD card, put it on your computer, and you can add voice or edit it in whatever whatever movie editor you have. =)
oh and up B can be predicted but its used so infrequently and it takes no charge like foxes up B that most people i use it against dont see it coming and are taken off guard. I do think it sucks as a recovery, but offensively it is a plus.
I actually use the up B move not to recover but offensively. If your on a part of the stage where the end point isn't off the stage, u can use it almost like a dash attack (just up B then immiditely tilt to the left or right toward the enemy) and it does a good amount of dmg while knocking them in the air, followed by juggling or air tilt a to knock them away.
Down air is actually very good at hitting shielding opponents on the ground. Short Hop down air, land behind away from sheild grab, player releases shield thinking you can't do anything and you can follow up with an fsmash. Of course there is the chance that you hit them on the ground with dair and then that sets you up for either a fair or uair.
yeah, like i said id use it once in a while after a short hop, or after a dash attack/uptilt. but in my experience i just see too many people rolling or dodging it. i like cancelling my aerial attack for an airdodge-grab combo starter when faced with a shielding opponent.

There should be more videos like this. Poor quality but very helpful because you explain as opposed to just a montage.

don't discredit down air. it just needs timing. if you got that it's very effective. but back air is really good too.
he's my best out of the star fox characters. maybe even my best. right next to the toonster (toon link) and kirby.

this made me think. if you could do aerial grabs this game would be even better.

Yoshi has a great Up-b, with his air speed he can get back to the stage with using his double. Unless he was hit by a spike/semi-spike.
