I've been to huntington, greenlawn, Northport, brentwood, whyndanch, central islip, bayshore and those places are absolutely full to the brim wit illegals, and the gangs and day labourors. It's extremely bad in those places.

The funny thing is, most of those SUVs probably get 8-10 mpg doing typical Long Island driving. Just horrible.

Nassau county wouldn't have such a problem with traffic if businesses were mandated to have staggered scheduling. Of course that would have to cover the entire NY Metro area. This traffic is caused because everyone goes into work around 8 am, and leaves work around 4 pm. Staggering schedules means that this traffic is more spread out, and thus less congestion.

@num1hendrickfan I doubt that would help. Long Island is west/east. There is only one way out and one way to come in. No south/north.

@marbledillon It would certainly help. Have you actually seen how empty the roads are at 5 am in the morning? I sure have. Fact Long Islands roads are overburdened, staggering work schedules eases that burden ( by spreading that burden out ).
