i am of serbian descent but was not taught the language as a child. sadly, at 33 years old i am having to teach myself the language. thank you for putting this on here. any other aids that you think would be helpful, please email me at: moosenmobile31@gmail.com. thank you!
I'm Serbian and I'm always glad to know that there are people who want to learn my native language...So,good luck to everyone,I hope that you will be successful in studying it :D
@monicacorbett26 thanks for the info,I´m going to search the tube for it right now and download it (as well as sharing it on my Facebook, cause it really rocks !!!)
Some are really close to those of its sister language,Russian but I confess I prefer Serbian and some other slavic languages,as they sound softer to my ears, but of course Russian is a powerful language, has its own strong beauty ...
@Gwynsek russian is softer than serbian. i think you're looking for west slavic languages. they are the softest. (polish, czech, slovak, sorbian, etc.)
@zakyzeek Zaky, sounding or not may be subjective here, cause I have four -year-study of Russian and do not find it softer than what I have been listening of Serbian, the latter is way softer to my ears, even the Russian words are way bigger, which I don´t like either.Of course,Polish,Czech,Slovak are sweet to no end and the little I´ve heard of them I already love !So sweet, indeed !
@Gwynsek russian is the most palatized slavic language. i find it very charming. polish sounds really awesome as well. serbian sounds cool how words are pronounced, but i hate the little pronouns reflexives and prepositions inbetween big words. and even the verbs and actual big words aren't very big, and it comes out sounding like italian.
@zakyzeek It´s a matter of taste,of course. The palatalization may be due to the influence of Khalha (Mongol),which I find charming too,Mongolian language is great, but I don´t like the big words in Russian or in any language. But I do like Ucrainian and Bulgarian,go figure.
Your very welcome and i will keep making new videos as soon as i can to help teach you all better as i myself am learning :)
Also i will be translating some of my fave serbian songs into english. If you have any other ideas just let me know and i will do my best to help out :D
