Well Raichu is orange not brown nor yellow But I suppose a Dark orange would be in the middle of those two selections so it may have been the colour on your monitor :P

Electric attacks actually work on Rock-types, but since most Rock-types are part Ground as well (which are immune to Electric), I could see why you would think it wouldn't work.
