  • I just wanted to say that you're my favorite of all the players who do bass playalongs...silky smooth and spot on with those riffs! Thanks from a "fellow" bassist. Chi-town Sher

  • E, B and D? I think E, C# and D are much better...

  • bratu chujovo to hras

  • @beefnochicken Thanks a lot for watching the video and for posting your comment!

  • is this an improvisation or the real bass line?anyway,it sounds really good!

  • This is not the bassline as it was originally recorded by Steppenwolf; it's just my version.

Thanks a lot for your comment.

  • Thanks for this, useful, would have been better to have a guitar with dot markers on the frets though !

  • It is really great knowing that you found this video useful. As for the markers, sorry for that. I'll be playing some new songs with my Stingray 5 bass, which has markers.

  • To me it the best rendition and showing the neck too! Thanks!! Can you slow it down to show us novices how idi the fingering??? Thanks again!!!!

  • I am starting to post some videos on which I show a slowed-down version of the bassline. Thanks a lot for your nice words.

  • loll xD 5*****

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Very helpful as I have to learn this for a gig - bar owner insists on singing it! - and the little speakers on my computer don't let me hear the bass well enough to cop it by ear! One suggestion: Rather than play the low B on the E string, then up to the D at the 10th fret, I go to the D at the 5th fret of the A string. This leaves your hand in the same position to get the G at the 5th fret of the D string. But whatever gets the job done, right? Thanks!

  • Yes, the digitation that you are proposing is definitely more efficient than the one that I am using in this video. Thanks a lot for your suggestion as well as for watching my videos and for your nice comment!

  • So your basically saying drum is the other kidney, and that we can take the drum out and keep the bass? You just got pwned mate =P

  • you've got to be kidding me.

  • (Bass) Guitar Hero!

  • LOL, thanks for your comment!

  • Terrific playing. Iv'e been playing guitar for the past year after a 20 year absence from it. Self taught in those days without you tube. Times have changed. Friend let me borrow Jack Casady signature and I love it. No flashy guitar stuff just easy going fun playing good rock sold rythem. My favourite bass rythems are motown, James Jamson. Do you have any motown covers or tips on where to find tabs etc?

  • I do agree with the points you made in your comment. Someone said that the guitar is the mind of a band, drums are the heartbeat, and the sound of the bass is its soul.

I was amazed by Jamerson's style when I was a child, and I then imagined an army of musicians writing such terrific arrangements. I later learned that most of the time, he would get into the studio and would start playing like that out of the blue!!

  • hey! you are rhe best bass player from youtube!

    and you play greats songs.

  • Thanks for watching my videos as well as for your nice comment.

Definitely I am not the best bass player on YT. :-)
