  • bake occlusion isnt cool enough?

  • The shapes is just a UVW template from the modelling programme, the 3D mapping coordinates flatten to a 2D texture.

  • Holy crap, it took all that just to make a spark plug?

Good God, the whole machine it fits into must've taken weeks xD

  • dayumm that's skillz

  • How long did that take?

  • frieking awesome! great work!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS! can't wait for NS2

  • what tool was that in photoshop that showed the tangents of the geometric shapes? or was it just a pre-drawn layer where the opacity was toggled?

  • can anyone help whit this ? ? ? ?

  • I'm pretty sure that was the Model mapping layer which you can export depending on which software you use. Then imported into photoshop as a layer, as you said.

  • Music : Juno Reactor - Conga Fury

    All his discography rocks.

  • Ops unfortunately you said what I wanted to say, the song in The Animatrix (Final Flight of the Osiris).

  • Need moar screens og ns2!

  • Outstanding work.

I'm a really bad 2D graphics artist, and somehow I can't learn it the right way.

Thanks for the insight in the work of NS2, really cool idea. I love your mod and play it as much as I can. :D Natural Selection is definitively the best and most intuitive mod of all mods ever created.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Loving it.

  • Nice work! Did you use tablet?

  • Almost certainly he did I couldn't imagine anyone doing that with a mouse

  • That was really good

  • Wow, I never realized how much work goes into a single prop. Keep up the great work, and mad "props" to all of you. :D

  • Pun intended

  • nice work

  • =DDD go go get us NS Source, GREAT JOB btw

  • It's "conga fury" by Juno Reactor.

  • insane texturing skills tbh! , keep up the good work!!

  • I'm curious how they get the bumb / paralax / specular / glow / etc. maps into the prop.

Would look kinda bland with just 1 texture layer.

  • It does have a specular map, but I didn't record that part of the process because it isn't very interesting.

  • So much work, I had no idea! O.O This video has definitely made me look at textures in a new, and more respecting way.

  • this is crazy

  • Totally badass, man. At what rate was the recording sped up?

  • The texture took about one and a half hours to paint, so it's sped up quite a bit.

  • Wow. It's amazing how much detail goes in to a prop. The sad thing is us players take it for granted... This is pretty eye opening. All that work just for a canister.

It looks great! Keep up the awesome work!
