  • I think it says that there is a beetle for everyone...

  • 1:31 shadows from the crew moving!!!LoL

  • OMG i love that black beetle with the white walls AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Hey look...LEELOO MULTIPASS!

  • When was that commercial? 50s?

  • Reminds me a bit of Trollollollollol...

  • no offense , but were people high when making this commercial ? because it looks really weird .

  • Reminds me of a line from Repo Man: "Do a lot of acid, Bill? Back in the hippie days?"

  • Well, this is pretty quirky. When you have a captive audience in a movie theater, they'll just sit and watch for a few minutes in between other films - which is where this was originally shown.

I must say that the range of Beetle colors was not the most vibrant at that point. Not much of a palette range. Of course this film has likely faded somewhat in the last 50+ years, too.

  • ok now its official i have seen all on internet

  • Was this really a commercial?.... seems a little long for being just a mere commercial...Maybe it was a series of commercials that ran in segments, telling as story along the way?

  • It's interesting to compare this (likely French) European ad to the North American VW Bug ads which stressed the car's practicality, quality and durability, rather than looks and colours

  • VW Bugs in creepyland with the whole gang of artsy fartsy dumb previous owners. The next episode shows them removing the thermostat, and oil bath filter assembly and not greasing the front beam.

  • Huh! why does the green blob of paint turn into a gold Vw? 0:33

  • Star Wars Cantina Band works much better with this clip, I find.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Volkswagens did drugs too... everyone did then

  • oh WOW--rendered speechless like the commercial! Great veedub toys, and great veedubs!

  • strange and very cool all at once! The cars are hot and the chick is too-nice ass!

  • Great post-WWII commercial! ... Dancing Pallet -- most certainly! ... What a smart move to produce it mute for the international market (needed no dubbing) ... The message is clear: VW has the most versatile color choices ... To each their own ... Beautiful! ... Cheers, Julia from Florida

  • I do not usually do this very often but it's going to favorites.

    fantastic.

    bye

  • VW the best thing to come out of Germany since Hitler

  • i really like this commercial!

  • at leaset we'd be speaking more than one language (like the rest of the world)

  • the best years is when they made the window larger

    FAV 1968 vw beetle

  • Absolutely amazing !!!!!!!! Thanks for posting Beetlejuice 150 !!!

....and they say that we are in the golden age of advertising.....those good old times of naive putiry are gone ....

  • ¡Que hermoso¡ La verdad es una obra de arte sobre ruedas.

  • Those crazy Germans! Haha...With this type of silly advertising it's no wonder they couldn't sell National socialism to the rest of the world. Now with a proper ad campaign that we could readily identify with and enjoy; we'd all be speaking German! Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

  • Coral Red FTW... best vintage Bug color ever!

    Skiier's choice!

  • WONDERFUL!

    WUNDERBAR!

    INDABAR!

    Indah Sekali ;-)

  • Mein Gott!

    Ha!

    Which color??

    Naaaa..can't tell!

    Amazing and INDABAR! Indeed!

    ;-) Thanks!

  • :-D

  • I cannot make my mind wich colour I like the best, probably the dark blue one, and the green one. Or probably the white one, and the red one, oH, no wait, I also like the light blue one. They are a piece of art.

  • Heh, they are attractive cars.

My beetle is old, rusty and dented but sometimes I still just stare at it to take in the beauty.

Kinda funny considering who designed the exterior.

  • who do you think designed it? please don't say hitler.

  • Freinderland Porsche designed the engine and the original prototype, Hitler re-designed the exterior because Porsche's design was absolutely hideous.

  • oh I get it they were saying that the bugs were like art, makes sence what a beutiful bunch of old ovals.

  • now THAT is a memerable commercial

  • God they were so beautiful...you didn't want to drive them... you wanted just to look at them and protect them from getting old...what a great commercial...just as I feel about them THEY ARE WORKS OF ART!!!

  • Beautiful video!

And my friend Beetlejuice, watch this commercial of the Brazzilian Beetle:

    "watch?v=d_NPEJhgIQc"

-Or find in YouTube: "Volkswagen Saude de Aço"!!!!!!!!!

  • trippy xD

  • That was... that was, I don't know what that was.

  • That's how I felt when I posted this...

  • Where do you keep finding these ads? They're amazing and I thought I was crazy about VW's

  • Well, some beople buy the DVD and send back DVD's with commercials on it. I even received a VHS tape! Once in a while I compile a new DVD.

I must admit it becomes harder to find commercials I don't already have!

    Paul

  • @Dave001976

I assume this commercial is showing what each beetle does, probably volkswageens idea that beetles are magical lol

  • what the hell?

  • whoa.
