@jejesdad shula was not a terrible coach. he led to to a 10 and 2 season if you remember correctly. i also dont remember hearing bama fans bit5ch about his coaching on sunday when the headline was his signature on the front page signifying a signature win (and plain ass kicking) of the florida team who was supposed to walk all over us. he ran a clean program and had a couple good seasons. at the time thats ALL we asked for and he DELIVERED. leave the man alone...

Why was Prothro in this game so late? 2005 the team started 9-0, and finished 10-2, in a season where if Prothro was healthy, they would have either been in the Title game, or at least in the BCS. He may be a decent human being, but he wasn't a good coach. He got the job due to his last name, and you forget his other seasons so quickly. As a Michigan fan, I would know a terrible coach when I see 1.

@jejesdad i agree prothro should have not been in there. as for the other seasons, look at the team he was given, HOW many failed coaches? one of them a traitor who left like a thief in the night. it takes time to build. even saban took time. was he a good tactician? probably not the best by any means. but he ran a clean program and was loyal, and at the time thats what we desperatrely needed. those 2 losses HURT....but ki was proud of them that year. he tried harder than the LAST couple.

He broke his leg people!!!! Good grief, everyone is touting "Heisman" like he was going to win a trophy. This injury occurred when he landed on the field... what makes you think this little guy would have been durable enough to even LAST the whole year? He wasn't exactly 6'2" 220 lbs. My goodness, he was not going to be a durable player... was injured the prior year in bowl game versus Minnesota. When a player gets injured because of how he lands it's unfortunate, it wasn't from a hit.

There must be some confusion... was Prothro's ankle or lower part of his leg shattered? There is a difference. Regardless, would it have made it more acceptable for you if the injury would have occurred in the first quarter? When the game was "technically" still in the balance?

Agreed. Alabama rarely gets blown out, even in their down years. It's actually amazing how they are able to still be competitive even when they don't have the best of teams and have less than decent years.

If not for Protho's leg-break, Alabama finishes the season 10-1 or 11-0 and maybe wins the SEC Championship. It was a terrible decision by Shula to mess around with his best player on 4th down while up by 28 with 9:00 left. Kick the freaking FG, go up 34-3 and continue on a championship run.

Florida got their asses kicked. Then Bama beat Tennessee. Such a sweet year. I think Tennessee is now Alabama's biggest rival anyway. Sure, you'll never hear ESPN say that, and a lot of Alabama and Auburn fans might disagree, but Tennessee is the devil.

As a diehard Seminole fan, I don't really keep track of Alabama games, but I have seen several clips of your game against the much hated gators. And I'll have to say, that Prothro kid is definitely something else, and it's a real shame he was injured this season. I heard that he's redshirting this year, which may spell big trouble for us when our teams lock horns in '07.
