mccoy tyner always great back up, played exceptionally well wtih john coltrane and johnny hartman. man these cats sure swing. lee morgan is lyrical and melodic, good intonation and rhythm. wonderous player for his age, very mature. his chops would only worse with age, he said all he need to say in his active years. legacy will stay forever.
Now Lee was pretty cocky from what I hear fellas. As far as trumpet players go. Miles had technique too. Lee is my favorite but I can never knock Miles.

Miles was great but to cocky! Lee was more of a trumpet player with his lyrical sounds on the trumpet.

@greenstboy And soul. And his own style.
Lovely piece and great playing by McCoy behind Lee.

One of my favorite tunes recorded by the great Lee Morgan. He is such a dynamic and lyrical trumpeter on ballads.
