@KittyReporter Nuclear Weapons in my opinion, are a necessary deterrent to avoid wars like Europe experienced during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Nuclear weapons, are also a more efficient way of killing that is all there is to it. Maybe we should just ban bio-chemical weapons such as nerve agents etc., and maybe with that we should just remove our conventional weapons too. Maybe we should also disarm any of our defense we have against other invaders.

@KittyReporter Yes, but disarming is a bad idea beacause you don't know if country's have them hidden under ground when we are fully disarmed. We could be attacked as soon as we disarm our stock piles by a preemptive strike. Nuclear power is what gives the U.S. influence.

@beardagoober President Obama's recent Nuclear Security Summit in DC on 4/12-13/10 is a step in the right direction. The real danger to all humanity is from loose nuclear materials that folks want to buy and use for terrorist activities. The recent Summit was meant to bring all countries together to work together to stop this threat. We have to find ways to work together with dialogue and creating a Culture of Peace by building confidence measures step by step and to live up to the NPT.
