  • Poco piu animato, too slow.

  • I started learning sheet music with op. 28. There are lots of really easy pieces, and you can steer away from shit music which kills the motivation. No. 4 and 15 are really great beginner material. It took some time to learn, but you are rewarded with the most beautiful music. Music you can be proud to play.

  • Finish the fight....

  • She does this really nicely. The only thing I would change is to have it quieter in the rising action during the B section with more crescendo, and then much louder ( a true fortissimo) in the climax sections for more of a contrast. Just my personal preference though

  • listening to this all i picture in my head is....the cheif<3:')

  • When i listen to this song, after it, every other song are like "empty" ...

So i listen to this every time i go to bed, because it's the most relaxing thing on this planet .

  • OMG! I Fell in love with this girl!

  • so beautiful...........

  • excelente, nada mejor

  • Halo commercial brought me here

  • Drax plays this on his grand piano in movie "moonraker" 007

  • i can play nocturne in eflat major 9-2 pretty much perfectly, will i be able to play this piece?

  • @guycrosswell I can play nocturne in e-flat (although not perfectly) and I think this piece is harder. It's worth giving it a try though.

  • @johnnycbad

I would say this is almost the easiest prelude of all. The loud part is to impress friends who don't play not knowing it is easy to play.

  • @guycrosswell yes you should e able to. i just finished playing this piece it took me about two months to learn, good luck!

  • halo believe

  • @master10999 chopin op 28 no 15. Raindrop.

  • This song is the literal definition of Hope. Through the song, the piano argues with itself, despair and prosperity, in the end the balance is found and the listener is moved in such a way that changes said person forever

  • Yougqietza misfanasi ilierpo!!!!

  • Molto gradevole l'immagine, bella l'esecuzione.

  • great¡¡¡¡ =)

  • Anyone else remember Master Chief while listening to this?

  • she is beautiful and so is the piece.. I am learning this one now for the new semester. : - )

  • nice tune

  • @MrPloopy83 that is such a beautiful story :) i love to listen to those pieces ..they aren't very sad, but kind of relaxing...<3

  • One day, i was listenning this song, and my 6 years old cousin just ask my " Why are you listenning such sad music" and i answer "I can not explain to you, just sit and listen".

We listened quietly, and at the end, he was just .. like surprised.

And, then he actually take some classes and more and more

Now, he is 15, and it's the greatest pianist i ever seen for his age.

Chopin and Valentina Igoshina are both genuis. Thank you.

  • @MrPloopy83 I just love positive comments

  • Well without question a truelly remaerkable moment in time

  • thumbs up if you're here for GCSE music!

  • doing gcse music anyone???

  • The intensity is missing !!!! Insipid.

  • I'd like to play her piano if you know what I mean.

  • @terrarune i do and i SOO i agree lol.

  • somewhat scary, but very very good - nay flawless!

  • BIG O! SHOWTIME!

  • What exactly is there to dislike here. An awesome rendition from a beautiful girl. Great camera work. Don't get it, maybe Jersey Shore is more to their liking?

  • Despite how ill he was, Choppin still manage to compose beautiful pieces that still sustain today. Every time I listen to one of his works, especially this one, my life feels meaningless as the melody ripples through my soul. Thank you Choppin!

  • Peter Kay live was the ad..

This is as far away from Peter Kay as you can get !! LOL

    Classy and elegant.

    Great work

  • She is so pretty. This is my favorite piece by Chopin!

  • absolutely beautiful

  • can't believe this person copied the halo 3 commercial......

  • @mex1jvr lawl

  • The best part of the video is the camera guy, the sound, the light, and her dress.

Her playing is a little bit to tight in some parts, she hasn´t a bright "horizon" during her playing and I don´t think she can manage technical difficulties. But the atmosphere is fantastic. Almost from another world. Very good video job.

  • If she can make my ears orgasm with the way she uses her hands on the piano, just imagine what she can do with other parts of my body.

  • Divine!

  • Very beautiful....

  • when i hear this song im not afraid anymore

  • This video keeps freezing up on me at 2:52. I refreshed the page 3 times and freezes in the same place........

  • She looks so hot with that long hair, its too bad she cut it off...and the old world looking evening dress really sets the mood for this music. She should have her own channel on here like the other Valentina girl does.

  • Face/Off sent me here.

  • She looks like a princess...

  • HALO... BELIEVE...

  • Playing a piece that is supposed to be sad and soft (or pianissimo) doesn't exactly equal barely touching the notes.. I like Ashkenazy version better

    Still a great performance

  • Chopin would be proud

  • This is BEAUTIFULL. I played this piece most all of my life myself, so it is almost impossible to impress me with it. But Valentina does!!! The tranquility, the simplicity, it is moving. The way she returns to the main theme 5:30 is stunning. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

  • 2:53

  • Valentina plays this prelude much better than Horowitz. This performing is superb!!! The best I saw in all my life. God bless her.

  • One wonders what the 39 people who clicked "dislike" consider to be music.

  • @MustyOldBooks justin bieber music...

  • @MustyOldBooks What makes me sad is that number has since grown....in such a short amount of time lol

  • @MustyOldBooks

Many possibilities here. They might not like Chopin, they might dislike the cheesy romantic setting (dress and light). I personally dislike her playing. She plays ad libitum ad absurdum.

  • She see's Chopin's ghost in the ceiling.

  • french class nostalgia...

  • For me, this piece is all about 02:05 :)

  • Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28, are a set of short pieces for the piano, one in each of the twenty-four keys, originally published in 1839 and dedicated to Joseph Christoph Kessler, a composer of piano studies during Chopin's time..

    (From Wikipedia)

  • A nice performance, spoilt by yet another clip of this pianist being cut off at the end of the clip! Infuriating !!!! Let the final end chord be heard in full, and add 5 more seconds !!!!

  • I hope Red Skull plays this again in the new Captain America X)

  • i just won a trophy for playing this song :)

  • It's so beautiful with the outfit, very classiscal!

  • It is 02:27 in the morning. I just finished 1400 words...ventured into Raindrops as it is storming post midnight here...much needed, Chopin well received...at this quiet hour of the day. Happy Saturday to all my YT buddies and FB'ers too.

  • this video is one of the best things iv'e ever watched and I have most definitely seen a great deal of things happen..

  • Respond to this video... words can't describe this beautiful blessed listening experience

  • Estas "disculpas por la edición" es una muy simpática modestia. Está todo cuidado al máximo, hasta el juego de luces, la perspectiva del enfoque, todo.

  • This Is Real. Not Like That Stupid Crap We Hear Today. This Is What Some Music Artists Need To Hear. Maybe It Will Inspire Them To Make Actual Music.

  • @BrianaaBaeee What's up with the capital letters?

  • how dare you make the first comment about a halo ad.

  • Thumbs up if you heard this from Big O.

  • es bonito el preludio y ella tambien

  • Awesome fabulous relaxing soothing

    Robert

  • Chopin + Valentina = pure beauty

  • If nobody's noticed, she has no sheet music. This is how real music is supposed to be played... not from paper; from the heart.

  • @Aidanjalali Not necessarily. Back when Chopin was alive, it was considered disrespectful to play music without the score unless you were the actual composer. People can feel music AND read it at the same time, you know.

  • Romantic sunlight. Romantic piece. Beautiful young woman. The setting is good. I know she loves chopin. I've watched other videos of hers. They could put this scene in a movie. Quite an endearing portrait. She could pass for some young student in the time of Chopin...except her hands aren't petite and delicate, rather they have the musculature of a concert pianist. Well played, maybe a tad too much delay (for the contemplation), but nicely thought out.

  • @robertslistening This is a scene from a movie. The move is "The Strange Case of Delfina Potocka" (2010) I'd give the movie a 3 star rating but Valentina's piano performances (many of them here on Youtube) are superb, sublime, and perfect, definitely a 5 star performance.

  • in all her videos she looks like they're in frickin heaven

  • Wow! I'm practicing it, too, and i hit the notes, but i never would get this amazing dynamics!! :O

  • @MrLooseratwork you dont need to get these dynamics, evryone plays it their own way, it what you maken of it and if you put much feeling in it, it will sound good :)

  • just on big, soundless OOOOOHHHH.....

  • Thumbs up if you get goosebumps around 2:54!

  • Without rubato, this would be another same old same old, Chopin is a true genius.

  • 36 People need not have eardrums.

  • I`m without words! This is MUSIC!!! Pure beauty. Thank you, Valentina.

  • I first heard this on the Halo commercial but I didn't know what it was called until I heard it in my music class.

  • @MarzX1802 that mustve been unreal to hear in your class!

  • She was sight-reading this music without the music.

  • thumbs up if you do gcse music!

  • First the Halo commercial, then the Bulletstorm commercial (which is HILARIOUS!), and who knows what next?

This song is truly a masterpiece, no doubt performed by one of the best!

Thank you Valentina for putting so much emotion into this piece!

  • I prefer this interpretation to any other, and think right now at this time of age, it is the best in the world. Close to what Chopin had in mind, I think.

  • I think she described Chopin and herself as soul mates. It's on the complete video.

  • Pardon me! what is Halo?

  • @gullkorn1 A video game.Like Call of Duty.It´s only for XBox,and it´s set in the Future.A Ad for Halo 3 used this masterpiece :P

  • @gullkorn1 You've never heard of Halo? It's a very famous game for xbox.

  • its like shes looking at something above her head

  • Yes! Beautifully played!

  • Good musicians can play loud. Great musicians can play soft. Valentina is first rate example.

  • My piano teacher gave me this piece to learn next. It's exciting.

  • Good Luck to all those taking GCSE music on the 17th may

  • This is what GCSE Music makes you do.

Sit and listen to Chopin at 11 PM... I need a life.

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj true dat!

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj I'm listening to it at 1:30 a.m.

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj don't forget 'and the glory of the lord- by handel. the amount of times I've had to listen to that...

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj And then you'll be listeninig to Chopin when you're dead?

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj at least ur not wasting ur time,,

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj You know!

  • @jmsrtnntrsmj i'm doing that at the moment, it's nice though.

  • Para aquellos que no creen en la perfeccion, aqui tienen una muestra. Los tiempos, cada nota, la intensidad de tonos, las gotas de agua,.....Todo esta en el lugar preciso..

    Inerpretacion nitida y critalina......

  • I have always held Martha Argerich's rendition of this piece to be the best. Igoshina's more relaxed tempo is an interesting statement, though. I am not sure I have been swayed from my love of Argerich, but this is the only rendition that I am able to respect on the same level. This prelude truly contains a world within, I am daunted by the task of learning, but I persist because it will give me even greater insight into the art so masterfully represented here.

  • @klyde4parliament Yes that is truly wonderful how one can appreciate the music so much more when playing it. Even at the very basic level. I can't imagine how it must be for the truly great musicians.

  • She plays like what Chopin himself would have played, subtle with great tranquillity

  • BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!

  • The Halo 3 believe trailer brought me hear :P

  • Honestly this time I prefer this version more than those of Rubinstein, Horowitz etc. It's played very relaxed and soft... a true 'rêverie'. My opinion is that the girl did understood what Chopin wanted to express with this. Excellent interpretation.

  • Ive been playing piano for 9 yrs, I played Grande Vasle Brillante for my piano competition this year, any suggestions fro next year? Thanks!:)

  • @hellosummer16 always play chopin at a recital theres no better.

  • @hellosummer16 how about this? (: it's gorgeous

  • i love this!

and thats proof that noone needs to only like one type of music!

i listen to screamo too but this is really different, makes me happy (:

  • I really want that piano ! !

  • Good but too slow for my liking.

  • Thumbs up if that Halo add wasn't the first time you've heard this.

  • @punkypenguin321 sry it was for me. But now im in LOVE with his music.

  • @punkypenguin321 Well the Halo ad was the first time I heard but I didn't actually bother to look it up until after I heard it in my music class.

  • @punkypenguin321 That just Reminded me of the piece... Chopin wasn't a master, he was a pure genius...

  • @punkypenguin321 ya... I think it's cool that microsoft used it for that though... expose more people to Chopin.

  • @punkypenguin321 Yes! You all represent a minority elite! Congratulations on your elevation to GODHOOD.

  • @punkypenguin321 newp face/off :>

  • @MrNoirtoise What?

  • @punkypenguin321 Have not seen the Halo add; heard this a million times and still love it!

  • @punkypenguin321 who cares? good for Microsoft for putting some good music into their ads and introducing more people to Chopin

  • @IcyScythe What I mean by this is that it separates the aficionados from the general public.

  • An incredible interpretation... far out.

  • This is stunningly beautiful.

  • Bungie was genius to put this in their trailer. Chopin was a master of music and this chick needs to give me her number.

  • I shivered and cried like a lil girl......... and I don't regret it.

  • Any master artist knows that greatness lies in the nuances. In other words it's not that loudness or flamboyance that create a genius but his or her attention to the subtle changes in music, in style, and in art which express the many beautiful color and depth of life.

  • NOW SHE IS MY WIFE

  • 6:02

  • She's the best Chopin player I know, If I listen to Chopin must be Igoshina.

  • This piano piece touches soul

  • i think 34 bieber fans were here

  • YES! AT LAST! A pianist who can actually make the melody sound like raindrops! Beautiful!

  • This is my favourite piece on the GCSE music syllabus :)

  • GCSE musci this is one of my favourite pieces on the syllabus apart from grace by jeff Buckley :)

  • @joeturner1995 , maybe, but i quite like west side story ;)

  • @joeturner1995 same!! and it's so easy to write about as well :) i also really like bernstein's something's coming :D

  • @ScobotheHobo justin bieber fans, because they're jealous that there idol doesn't have talent.

  • open a new tab search

    rainymood

    listen!

  • Chopin talked about simplicity....you don't have to worry about learning the notes just imagine and understand what they make you feel..and that's what you have to show when u play Chopin's pieces. They are full of expression and feeling...and simplicity :) like this piece! so beautiful <3 if only there were raindrops around her!

  • Its the voice of a sick musician sitting alone at the window on a rainy evening, the sun almost set, watching the raindrops with tears in his eye, remembering all the days of his life but knowing its all about to end.

You can feel it in the music. there is a desire in the beginning, a struggle in the middle and acceptance in the end .

Its not music, Its emotions, feelings and sadness... its everything that you feel when you are taking your last breath. Because that is when Chopin wrote this.

  • Something so beautiful playing something so beautifully.

  • Believe.

  • The 34 people might dislike it because it is played way too slow with a forced rubato. Loses all it's power. Listen to Horowitz play it and weep openly. (I didn't thumb it down BTW ). She is a lot prettier than Horowitz though...wink wink

  • 34 people without the ability to hear and feel

  • the light in this video makes her look like an angel.

  • The video is clearly cut and edited... probably isn't recorded at the same time as the audio... the lighting on her face changes.

    Anyhow, this is so beautiful.

  • @ScobotheHobo 1 Elite and 1 Brute

  • Oh Chopin, what would I do without you in my life?

  • @die4pie LOOOOOOOOL YOU FUCKING BATTY BOYOO!

  • such beauty.....he describes the beauty of life and death. Death isn't only a bad thing...it's a relief and peaceful rest, too.

  • love the feeling she shows at 2:07

  • @daveCATpiano

    2:07? You mean from 0:00 to 6:43 ...
