  • I saw this when it was actually broadcast - it cast a spell over me then and still does. Great.

  • q emocion, carajooo. esta musica fue de mi juventud. yo tenia 17 cuando ellos aparecieron. ahora tengo 34 el doble de entonces. tantos recuerdos me trae la voz d Duritz, quiero llorar a gritos

  • i like the album version better

  • It's about me and Anna: The relationship was supposed to be light -- we met on vacation -- but we got further into it and it became harder and harder. It's about all the things you go through trying to, sort of squash your feelings. to sort of shut it down, and how much you can hurt other people and yourself by doing that. The people in the song are just continuously telling themselves they don't feel what they do feel, until the end when it's too late, and then they realize what they were rea

  • It's about denial -- how far you'll go to deny that somethings really happening because it's too complicated, too terrifying, too difficult. • This is BY FAR my favorite version of "Anna Begins."

  • first off, that is a graet elvis costello song at the start.

this version of anna begins will always be the version I go back to, Adams voice is so tender and vulnerable - gives me shivers all the time. shakes me up a bit.

  • Wow! when I uploaded this in 2008 I didn't think there would be much interest. Thanks to 50,000 people for looking!.....tojaks

  • COUNTING CROWS- Anna Begins.

No me molesta decir esto no es amor.

Porque si usted no quiere hablar de ello, entonces no es amor.

Y creo que voy a tener que vivir con eso.

Pero estoy seguro de que hay algo en un tono de gris,

    O algo intermedio,

Y siempre puedo cambiar mi nombre

Si eso es lo que quieres decir.

  • Thanks uploader tojaks, you made my day.

The Elvis is a nice bonus too :)

  • @ lowvamp....this live version is not available on cd...but you could copy the audio to your pc and make your own, as I have done!

  • i will die for 1000 time for this song....!!! adam u my angel.!!

  • This is from "Later with Jools Holland" BBC tv 1994

  • @tojaks

thanks for the info!!! great live recording of a fabulous song - you wouldn't know where i might get a cd copy would you?

  • Anyone - What show is this from/when was it recorded? Thanks.

  • he sings like this because he doesnt want the audience to sing along with him because he said in an interview that his lyrics to his songs are "his" words and no one elses.

  • Wow they really fucked that up the best part is at the end when he sings "Her kindness bangs a gong, it's moving me along" With the along emphasized

  • @mattfish85

    they didn't 'fuck it up'.

the crows play every song differently at nearly every concert.

they try new things so that their music doesn't get repetitive. its about the soul of the songs, not the content (although the songs are all great).

and if you can't see that, then i can only assume that you aren't a crows fan.

  • 3:00 - 3:10..... Freakin wow!!!

(Weak words to describe the moment but I really don't think that words can do it any justice)

  • the elvis costello song is called Kinder Murder, off his album Brutal Youth

  • My parents had the August and Everything After cassette tape in 93', I still rock a copy of it to this day.

  • ive always wanted to understand the real meaning of this song but it never really mattered I LOVE this song..... being an Anna it's awsome to hear him sing to my ears;-) brilliant!

  • I think it's about a guy and a girl who are just having a friends with benefits relationship. Then the girl says that she thinks she's falling in love with the guy. It freaks the guy out, but then the more he thinks about it the more he realizes maybe he, too wants something more. But then, when he realizes that he's in love, the girl has moved on.

  • This song always makes me cry.. I had a love experience very similar to his.. This song was chosen for me by my lover.. and I loved him more than anything but he said he could never love me... but this song has always made me think otherwise..

  • fucking awesome is the only way to describe what i have just witnessed, excuse me while i change my underwear

  • badass, I love adam skinny

  • adam duriz is great!!!!!!!! pure feelings

  • u can just feel the sorrow in this song thats why its so great. it makes me feel bad for him because i found out what this song is really about and its hard to imagine the emotion he has when he performs this song

  • what is it about!?

and do you know what hard candy is about as well? i have been wondering, and trying to find interviews about it everywhere, but i never did.

  • It's about him and a girl he fell in love with in Greece. She was from New Zeland, he's from Berkley. they had to go their seperate ways just as they realized how much they cared for each other.

Hard Candy is about memories. They're often sweet, but difficult.

  • Wow. Just wow. Counting crows have to be my favourite band simply because of how real they are, and Adam sung beutifully here. 5 stars.

  • why is the camera-man up inside of Adam's nostrils from 3:45 through 4:30?? i would have taken the microphone off the stand and hit that dude right in his lips lol....

  • Zoom.

  • Wow Wow Wow
