  • Shoaib is the fastest no doubts. Its not any individuals statement its the records which say. And please keep in account this reverse angled camera even Roberts, Holding and Lillee all looked very quick in those days when captured on that angle.

  • Hahaha, if u try to spilt on sun surly it will fall on ur face, shoaib not only fastest even but greatest too.

  • Tommo was never no balled for chucking and was a great bowler and great to watch and like they said it was a random delivery while Shoad nearly kills himself on his run up.

  • hey guys if u look close at jeff's Action it seems like he is chucking it Shoaib was a tiger more aggressive more powerful

  • jealous vegetarians cant be fast bowler

  • Comment removed

  • I remember really a cricket magazine article which stated that Thommo's fastest delivery of 160km/hr (dont recall the exact speed) was measured by speed at the striker's crease whereas modern day bowlers are measured by speed out of the hand. If this were the case, Shoab's fastest ball would not have been close to Thommo's fastest ball

  • Thomson never had a slower ball.. Shoaib was not as fast and took steroids..

  • yes i know about the dumb sling shot action shaun tait also has that action dumbass

  • I vote Shaun tait

  • @Fun555ish NO ONE WILL EVER BOWL AS FAST AS THOMMO FOR ONE REASON, HIS SLING SHOT ACTION . IT IS A PHYSICS PROVEN FACT THE BALL HAS MORE LENGTH TO SWING WITH THOMMOS ACTION WHILE ALL THE OTHER FAST BOWLERS DONT START UNTIL UP NEAR SHOULDER AREA SO LESS SPEED IS GENERATED . UNLESS YOU ADOPT HIS ACTION THERE IS NO CHANCE EVER BEING FASTER PERIOD. AND I DONT MEAN JUST ONCE OFF . I MEAN MOST OF THE TIME.

  • @11missblonde no - there are many factors involved - how explosive the athlete is how tall, how much momentum he is generating in his run up - his action at point of delivery (of course that is but one factor) - it is the combination of these factors - a synergistic effect. It is never just one factor - you make it sound like it is an exact science - it is not.

  • Thommo had to be the fastest bowler in history. He averaged somewhere above 148km per hour and that's AVERAGED! Imagine facing every ball from him at close to 150km per hour and then some (when he was pushing it) at over 160! And remember he could do this over after over for a whole test series not just a quick 20/20 or a one day. Think about that. Stamina, accuracy and blinding speed all the time. He wins hands down.

  • This is bull! Bowlers appear faster when bowling towards the cameras.

Cameras behind Thomson would show Thomson bowling average average balls.

Had Shaoib been filmed from this angle you would not see the ball. Just ask Stephen Fleming about the delivery he got from Shoaib in 99 World Cup. Now that was the fastest delivery anyone would wish to see.

  • Throwib only bowled (pitched) 161 at altitude. Thommo regularly bowled at that speed.

  • dont know about speed ...but shoaib is much skilled.

  • shaob is way faster

  • Well as watching these two different bowlers or fastest bowlers of cricket history, Jeff Thomson look like that he was faster then any other Bowler, he bowled consistently with awesome pace. and its seem that his speed was easily more then 160~170ks, Another Pakistan Great Imran Khan once talked about his experience in Kerry Peker series 1977 and he said that Jeff Thomson doubtlessly fastest bowler he ever seen.....

  • tommo

  • thommo is just fucking brutal, fastest ever.................

  • Aussie wk, Rodney Marsh claimed Thommo could reach speeds of up to 180Ks. Whilst there is doubtlessly some exaggeration here, you have to also take into account that Clive Lloyd also considers Thomson to be the fastest he's ever seen - & let's face it, he captained many a not-so slouch inc. the likes of Holding, Marshall, Daniel, Roberts & Croft to name but a few.

Either way, I love the bowling action of both. Sean Tait, whilst another lightning quickie, has IMO a much uglier style.

  • if you do you reserch , you can find footage of all the greats explaing why thomo was at least 10 k,s faster in his prime , the bowler speed from shoaib,s time is measures about 1.5 meters from the bowlers hand , but when thomo, was timed they measured the speed at the bastman , sience has formulated you could add roughly 9 or 10% to thomo,s speed , , so you do the math , yes thommo was insane hahahahha

  • @SuperOzman65 No they didn't, please show me where you got this bullshit information from.

  • thomson was quick but a fast bowlers would not like his bowling action..too wayward.

  • Saw both on TV. Can't comment on speed. but Shoaib much more skilled

  • Likeness of videos shows no doubt about fastest speed of Shoaib Akhtar.

  • Everybody is comparing speeds when thommo was past his prime and it was after he dislocated his shoulder in the field ( he never bowled as well). Shoaib is very fast but thommo was faster. AND finally there is a video on YouTube were he is said to bowl 110 mph DONE

  • thommo will be the fastest ever

  • Akthar I'd bet. People look back with rose tinted spectacles-are we to believe every other sport has got faster and stronger apart from cricket-hmmm. Not so sure. eddie hemmings was quicker than both of these, when he bowled his arm ball

  • all indians have voted for thommo !lol

  • Good take by Rod Marsh!!!!. When u r facing a 160kmph+, its really difficult for the man behind the stumps.

  • I'd vote for Thommo.

  • Thommo! easily!! hell even "Shoaib" would vote Thommo!! and the run up is like hes about to bowl a leg spinner!!!! nice relaxing slight jog!!!!

  • Stupid video and even more stupid comparison. Akhtar's ball is with a front cam. Full pitched ball that batsman played. Thommo's ball is shot from the back. Short ball left by batsman and jump-caught by marsh. its like comparing apples and bananas (forget oranges). Watch a similar left alone akhtar ball from the back cam. Wont appear any slower than the thommo ball. Type "akhtar bouncer" and check out the first 6 sec vid. Hardly 149 km. From a cam behind the wk would appear thunderbolt.

  • Thomson was 100.02 miles at his ever fastest..

    Shoaib was 100.2 miles...

Shoaib was 1.80 mile faster than Thomson...Not agreed >>> go do some research...before carrying away with hate...

Watch the full video of world fastest ball ever bowled ...you will find it on you tube

God will help you if you are still jealous...

  • @thyillusionist how many years did he played and do you have his wickets stastics

  • @honeybilalraja he played for almost 13 years between 1972 (against Pakistan) and 1985, 200 test and 55 ODI wickets he has. His maximum speed with speed camera was 160.45 km and with conventional radar was 160.58 km. he went for 99.6 miles an hours at maximum in records and shoaib went for 102.0 and so. some say jeff crossed 100 miles barrier with 100.02 mile but it is still slower than shoaib.

These are real time statistics Mate not any thing Prejudice or hate...

i hope that will help, Cheers

  • @thyillusionist thanks bro

  • @thyillusionist from where r u which cuntry

  • @honeybilalraja ignorant dolt

  • @knowerzark wht r u trying 2 say

  • @thyillusionist if its on youtube it must be true!

  • who the is thompson look at his action no one is better then shoaib

  • @honeybilalraja NO ONE WILL EVER BE AS FAST AS THOMMO , THE ONLY WAY TO BEAT HIS SPEED IS TO ADOPT HIS SLINGING ACTION .IT IS DESIGNED FOR PURE SPEED. WHY CRICKET AUSTRALIA DONT TEACH HIS METHOD OF BOWLING IS BEYOND ME AS I DONT THINK HE HAD ANY INJURIES FROM HIS BOWLING. LOOK AT LILLEE,BRETT LEE,SHAUN TAIT,SHOAIB AKHTAR, THEY ALL GOT INJURIES OF SOME KIND. CRICKET AUSTRALIA NEED A KICK UP THE BACKSIDE FOR NOT TEACHING THOMMOS STYLE TO WHO EVER WANTS TO BOWL EXRESS PACE.

  • I'd rather rely on todays technology when it comes to recording speeds. I'd go with Ahktar, even though I'm not a huge fan. Only reason it seems quicker in this vid is because of the bounce in Tommo's bowl.

  • SHOAB IS A FILTHY DRUG CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @85Aheadstix you just shut up

  • this is about the camera technology, in old days the cameras were not effecient with the pixels, in these days its 1080P techology wich defines the ball at every moment and gives u the best idea of speed, shoaib is obviously faster.

once in rogger fedreds match the tennis ball piched inside the line but the camera while quantizing it with pixels made it look outside the line in action replay.

  • My guess is they're about the same.. The fottage is a bit misleading cos you have thomos ball carrying off the pitch through to the keeper. Not all Thomos deliveries did that

  • Shaib 100% !!

  • shoad akhta is world fastest bowler he is king of pace....fuck all these guy who commnt against shoad..hoho

  • @mubasher1988 FUCK SHOAB!< HE IS A FLITHY DRUG CHEAT!< FUCK YOU PAKI CHEATS!!!!!!!

THOMMO IS THE TRUE GOD!, NO DRUGS JUST PUE TALENT!!!!.

  • what a pointless video. you can't judge from a short clip of a delivery. you don't even have the speed gun stats.

having said that, thommo's action looks cleaner, so i'll say it's him.

  • Jeff Thomson was a chucker. No bowler who bowls more than 150k has a perfectly clean action. Except maybe Shane Bond.

  • @write2pras84 it almost impossible to chuck with a side on action that slings the ball. for me fast bowlers in order frank tyson/ jeff Thomson/ shoaib / brett lee/ michael holding for me the top five

  • @write2pras84 youre forgetting brett lee. no fast bowlers of his class have a cleaner and perpendicular action

  • duncan...they used to time bowlers at the batting crease, not out of the hand...thommo routinely clocked 90-95 at the batsman...so he was easily 100 mph plus out of the hand...obviously shoab was very quick, but given that ponting, lara and sachin didn't face thommo, they can't judge.

thommo is the quickest ever..even shoab knows that...at least the quickest since frank tyson...don't know who he is? look him up.

  • Nah, Shoad was good, but Thommo was fucking insane!!!

    easily over 160 plus!.

  • @85Aheadstix u must be out of ur mind watch this, this is also a random ball from Shoaib in 148km imagine if it would have been in 160km ;)

    v=nF9Lp8YrD0Y

u cant just anounce Thomson the winner just like that mind u

  • look at marshy...great great wicket keeper...gasping for air after that little pearler... had black and blue hands for months after this series

  • Shaoib anyday. Plus it's been proven. A load of scientists studied Lillie and Thomson and said they clocked in about 90-95mph. Akhtar's broken the 100mph barrier and consistently bowls in the 90s

  • @duncandohnut1993 idiot...thommo, before the collarbone broke, was clocked using a road safety radar at 160 kmh plus...you kids know nothing!!!! nothing!!! ask viv richards who the fastest was? for that matter, andy roberts was qucker than b-grade akhtar

  • @knowerzark Us kids know nothing. Oh dear. How old are you? I play cricket a lot. I watch cricket a lot. I know a lot about cricket. Who are you to tell me I know nothing? Shaoib Akhtar was the fastest bowler. If Thomson had broken the 100mph barrier they would know about it. Ask anyone of the modern era who the fastest bowler was. Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar, anyone.

  • Thommo is Faster!!

  • someone says a pitch can sloy by... Ofcourse. But maybe you never heard of full tosses, yorkers and half volleys. Btw most really fast deliveries reach batsman on full. And in air resistance to a round ball over 22 yards is very little. And dont forget he was even measured at 150 holding 40 imran 38.so much for the consistency back then.

  • there is a myth going around thommo was only measured at batsman end. He was also measured using high speed cameras. They measure at point of delivery.also once in a fast bowling comp. He measured fastest at !5!. No way he was faster than akhtar. Modern reaction time and protection makes it seems so. Same way a car driven at 60 miles would have seem super quick in 1955.

  • @tony5486zo54l Pfft!, Akhtar bean beaten mate!, get over it!

Taity unoficially beat his record a fiew years back, i saw it on a current affairs program is Oz, plus shoabs been busted for roids so how can we ever trust him now???.

  • @tony5486zo54l after his collar bone broke....in 1974 he was the fastest bowler in history...period...or after tyson anyway

  • thomson is quicker

  • Thomson was a freak

  • Thommo is just way too faster.thumbs up if you agree

  • @yogeshdelhi1 lol you got no clue.

  • @yogeshdelhi1 both of them were great. There was a speed competition that took place in late 70's, Jeff won that competition but his fastest ball was 149. rest i do not know.

  • @yogeshdelhi1 v=nF9

    watch this v=nF9Lp8YrD0Y

  • @yogeshdelhi1 Prove it.

  • @BlackestBreed666 thats true bro.......thommo once sent a thunderbold which hit the sight screen after bouncing on the pitch at waca.....can moving ball at 100mph do that........never ever compare anyone with thommo pacewise....

  • @crisspyman That is very true.

  • Comment removed

  • @Read2Rock

they had high speed cameras and radar (dishes) back then too, photosonic 16mm 400fps cameras which are still available.

i believe thommo was mostly 100mph,and sometimes faster.the batsmen that faced him said he was really fast, but every now and then would send down that ball that was sooo fast they couldnt even begin to react.

  • Thomson is by far the fastest bowler of all time. You have to remember Thomson was timed 160+miles an hour at the BATSMENS END and not at the bowlers end as Akhtar and all modern cricket is. So saying that Thomos release speed was 190+miles an hour. SO WHOS THE FASTEST??? no-one is even close to Thomo.

  • Why r u talking so much shite? If he was properly clocked at 160.4 km/h then why does everyone say shoaib is faster?

  • gotta love the people saying akhtar is faster when one of thomson's only recorded deliveries, at the end of his career btw, was clocked at 160.4km/h, faster then akhtar's fastest ever

  • i am a pakistani and i think thomson is quicker than akhtar but bowling is way more than that!!its about swinging the ball and getting ur line lenghth right..in terms of that thomson was shit ..lillee was better and lethal...if you ask me shoaib is the most lethal of the three alongside lilee and thomson..plus dennis lille was a racist choker...pakistan zindabad GO shoaib!!!

  • Thommo looks quicker plus his action was extradinary like a javelin thrower and you dont see the ball come out of his hand his arm is hidden to the batsman till the last split second he must have been a handful in his peak 74-76.

  • Those who are saying Thommo doesn't follow through properly, look at shaun Tait and where he finishes after bowling when he bowled his fastest. He only goes 2 or 3 steps. the only way to tell who was fastest is by listening to the guys who have seen plenty of both guys: Holding Benaud Greig Marsh. Personally i think Thommo has Akthar covered.

  • Speed comes from a greater build up of inertia and transfer of force to the ball. Strong legs, core and shoulders with great flexibility, when mixed with an action that moves in the one plane (both shoaib and Thommo) gives the ball its pace. Run up contributes on average 2% of total pace (scientific fact). look at when Akhtar comes off his short run, he still bowls 95MPH. A run up gives you momentum and balance at the crease which both guys have.

  • I am Indian. Living in states. But, anyways. I always pick on Akram = jabbing at people and arguing Akram not really good. But, I never ever say Shoaib isn't good. Akhtar is the shitnizz. The most entertaining bowler to watch. In his prime, it is like watching a stallion charging in as if that stallion is charging into an enemy front line army. the best run up of all time and so pacey.

  • @ankushkewl@imthemess i m really afraid of kumblys pace

  • Sohaib is batter then thompson....period

  • @1975siralex Looking at the videos, I believe that Thompson was the fastest of all time, much faster (though by a fraction) than holding. I think shoiab is faster than Holding, however holding had a more smoother action (looked like less effort) than shoiab. this is also the reason shoiab has more injuries. The right ball to compare is shoiab to ponting vs the delivery of thompson shown here.

  • @mahgop22 Lots of people dont know that Sohaib was a flat footed child and he could hardly run properly but he became a fast bowler through hard work and dedication and secondly during the time of thompson they used to have very few test matches per year compared to now i mean look at th injuries bowlers suffer these days due to the amount of cricket being played ....Andrew Flintoff had to retire due to stress fracture, brett lee got injured so many times and so did so many other fast bowlers..

  • Thomson' action was sheer body strength - and he wan't a preening narcissistic nancyboy like Akhtar either. The radar guns clocking Akhtar could not be trusted - there is not way that he would have been clocked at 100mph in another country. Probably all part of a corrupt betting fix like everything else in Pakistan. Thomson was quicker.

  • @Ingramdumpkiss

Akhtar was clocked hundred plus in South Africa during a world cup match, you dumb cunt idiot. Look at the video again. Look at the bottom and see if you can notice safari design. Well, if you can then you know it is World Cup highlight. And, if you can't figure that out, then you should stop watching cricket and find another sport to like. Thomson not fast. Holding faster than Thomson. Now, go ingramdumppiss.

  • @dilkashh Thomson's is still the fastest EVER recorded at 168KM/H and that was when he'd had some beers and a kg of steak off the bbq, unlike Akhtar who'd rather inject some steriod or two! Holding was recorded at 161KM/H by the same crew. BUT, that's recordable evidence. I'm pretty sure Thomson, Ahktar, Holding, all had quicker deliveries that weren't recorded. Proctor, the South African, was also regarded as unplayable at times re his sheer pace!

  • @dilkashh got a chip on your shoulder mate or is it just a piece of shit?

  • Look at other Thomo clips for the science! In the 1970's they recorded the ball speed when it reached the batsmen's stumps having already travelled 22 yds and pitched on the way, thus losing an average of 10% of it's release speed. Since the 1980's they have only ever recorded the 'Release Speed', i.e over the first 1.5 meters having left the bowlers hand. As such, were Thomo bowling today he would be recording speeds of anything upto 110 mph, and would certainly be AVERAGING about 100mph.

  • it appears to be much faster behind the wicket as the viewer sees it as if the bowl approaches you while the front one is the opposite.

Guys you can't compare their speeds by watching videos on two different surfaces. Pitches in Aus have a higher coefficient of restitution and hence the speed doesn't reduce significantly upon pitching whereas it does significantly on asian wickets. what u shud consider is releasing speed not what you see after pitching.

smhw shoaib at peak>thommo at peak

  • @thejanwitha watch some from behind thommo, of him shattering batsmens limbs and jaws and the like...they sent the poms home in ambulances in 74-5

  • well, the pace behind the wicket appears to be much higher often as the viewer sees it as if the bowl approaches you while the front one is the opposite.

Anyhow, I reckon Akhtar at his peak > Thommo at his peak

  • Thompson without a doubt

  • thommo for sure

  • thommos is quicker despite the camera being faced in the other direction. this is due to the javelin like delivery in which his arm moves through a greater distance and his muscles are at full stretch. very raw though and i doubt an action like his will be seen again

  • @howisdatone one guy bowled like him...his son.

  • i think u r a indian thats y U underestimating the GREAT SHOIAB AKHTAR remember that how many times shoiab destroy ur indian team AND ur batsmen get scared when shoiab bowling because they know what can shoiab do with them!

  • @SHAN74261 - ofcourse shoaib is a world class and a great bowler...he is one of my favorites...but am only talking about pace bro.!

  • @ankushkewl yeah right? anil Kumble is the fastest indian bowler

  • @ankushkewl M8 i wanna clear your doubt the video u showed is of two different places having a totally different pitch condition Jeff was bowling at any Aussie pitch and they made fast track while shoaib was bowling on South african pitch which is not hard and fast as compare to Australian pitches !!!! here is the video of shoaib bowling at perth see here it looks even more faster then jeff

    watch?v=X0AMgUx1yAA

    watch?v=CWwLblgBeJ8&feature=related

  • @ankushkewl Shoabs just a filthy druggie!

    Boo!.

  • @SHAN74261 Shoib was a Chucker...There was no doubt about it...Thats why no Cricket calls him a bowler for great bowler...Cheating is in the Blood of Pakistanis...You Prove it

  • @SHAN74261 Suhaib chukter was a useless drug cheat , when he was getting thrashed , he used to run away pretending he was injured . even Inzamam ul haq said that he had no faith in chukter . he was more like rawalpindi bicycyle .

  • @Jatadhari1000 ,,,,,you are so stupid,,,shoib akhter is the fastest bowler in history of world,,,, no batsman can stand aginst shoib ,,,he is great bowler,,,,

  • thommo all the way !

  • shoiab is damn good for his awesome run up...

  • Jeff Thompson when he was 35 was clocked at 160km/h i think he is faster even though shaoib has bowled faster than that but jeff was 35 soo yea

  • i think dat you belong to India

  • lol lame as video ...why dont you show the spell which shoaib bowled to ponting at the waca....even langer said it was the quickest thing he had ever seen...lol the camera quality is so lame back then that the ball appeared quicker....and shoaib is a better bowler anyway

  • Shoiab akhter is the best ...

  • They measure speed now, only for the first 5ft out of the bowlers hand. The ball is measured approx. 14 times in that period and a speed taken. However, the ball hitting the pitch slows the ball approx. 10%. Back in the 70's when Thommo got measured at 100mph - that was timed at the batsman's end, after the ball had bounced and travelled that distance. So add that 10% and his speed is around 110mph. And that was not under match conditions with adrenalin. No-one comes close.

  • @69Ocker Nope, the accuracy of those machines is very very very questionable!

  • @attractivue The accuaracy of these machines has always been questionable. However the FACT remains that when Thommo was measured it was at the batsman's end - 22 yards away. But whenever Shoaib has been measured, it has been only in the first 5ft out of his hand, before the ball has bounced. How many batsmen face a bowler from 5ft away???

  • @69Ocker Again, I'll throw my weight behind today's technology then 25 year old :)

  • @69Ocker so dat means ur suppose to - it by 10% makin thomson's speed abt 90 mph

  • @69Ocker should i call that science ? lol

  • how can anyone in his right sane mind compare two different bowlers of two different generations.... and to top it all, one delivery is going away from the camera and the other one in which the ball is coming towards the camera. So naturally a ball coming in your direction would "appear" to be fast

  • Two different generations of bowlers. Can't compare. Jeff Thompson was truly a great bowler of his time and Shoaib Akhtar developed with much more technology and improved technique.

  • shoib is very fast

  • hahah thompson hasnt even got a good action man . and his runup is bad aswell. Shoaib has a good run up , strong shoulders and a nice fluent action. Akhtar always quicker.

  • @Fezzy015 thommo´s action is perfect and your understanding of fast bowling rather limited.

  • @murkygreen

Look at his action he almost stops at the crease, and akhtar has a way better action dan thommo

  • @murkygreen

If you call that perfect , than paul collingwood bowls above 95mph

  • @Fezzy015 Awkward moment when you are completely ignorant

  • @666heavymetaladdict

Was just talking about some facts though.

  • @Fezzy015 Thompsons run-up is more about rhythm than ground speed (like Akhtars). Jeff would certainly have stronger shoulders because he generates all his pace from the delivery stride, whereas Akhtar uses his runup to gain momentum.

  • @666heavymetaladdict

More about rhythm? mate he stops at the crease and then falls away? haha . Come on man Shoaib akhtar has way stronger shoulders than him he was like Rocky or something in the 90's and early 2000's. And Shoaib Akhtar has also got that hyperextension where he gets that pace from.

  • @666heavymetaladdict He was a pretty good javelin thrower as I understand too!

  • @Fezzy015 and he has nandrolone!!

  • @77Fortran

    What is nandrolone mate?

  • @Fezzy015 It's an anabolic steroid. You may recall Shoaib testing positive for nandrolone in 2006 and receiving a 2 year ban.

  • @77Fortran

hahah mate for how long did he take drugs? for his whole career ... NO Look at Shoaib and look at thompson mate there's a big difference between them . Akhtar has way more power and he is action/runup etc. are way better than that of Thompson's .

  • @Fezzy015 The facts are that neither you nor I know how long he was using performance enhancing drugs before he got caught.

  • @77Fortran

Everybody knows that he didn't take it for the for most of his career.

  • @Fezzy015 No, Thomson has a better action and is quicker. A lot quicker.

  • @Firefly0100

In which way does thompson have a better action?

  • @Fezzy015 Its pretty obvious. Higher front arm, smoother action, much higher front leg, straighter bowling arm.

  • @Firefly0100

Mate Akhtar was a trained athlete look at his arms, and beside that akhtar has hyper flexibility + a higher front arm doesn't give you pace. Smoother action? Thompson stops when he comes to the crease not fluent at all. look at his front leg and back leg @ 0.23 no balance at all. He doesn't even have a good follow through.

  • @Fezzy015 haha, you wouldn't have a clue about cricket. Michael Holding just said in an interview that Thomson is the fastest he has ever seen. He said that if the people bowling now were getting 92-93 miles per hour then Thomson was bowling 110. No, Thomson does not 'stop' at the crease. Are you blind? A higher front leg does not give you less balance, it allows you to get more pace.

  • @Fezzy015 You would't have a clue about cricket. Jeff Thomson will always be faster. Michael Holding even said in an interview that if players now were blowing at 92-93 m/ph then Thomson was bowling 110. Thomson does not stop at the crease, are you blind? There is nothing wrong with his follow through either. A high front leg does not put you off balance, it allows you to get more pace on the ball.

  • @Firefly0100

When thompson gets side on he takes just one step ( thats where he gets slower ). And mate i watch cricket everyday and if you want to talk about good actions , talk about Jimmy Anderson,Mohammad Amir,Dale steyn and curtley ambrose. He just falls to the left when he follows through , he isn't going forward like he should do.

  • @Fezzy015 What does it matter if he runs to the left. That means he isn't running on the middle of the pitch (you're not allowed to do that), bottom line is, Thomson is a hell of a lot faster than Akhtar.

  • @Firefly0100

I didn't say he RUNS to the left , he FALLS to the left and that's where you lose momentum in your follow through. Akhtar is the quickest mate.

  • @Fezzy015 You couldn't be more wrong. if someone like Micheal Holding says that Thomson is the quickest by a long way (this is someone who actually faced him and watched him bowl live), you would have to be a fool and extremely stubborn to question it. Thomson is the fastest by a long way and does not fall the to left, that's just his follow through to avoid running on the pitch.

  • @Firefly0100

Did holding face akhtar ? No. Ask ponting who is the quickest . Even if he would run straight he wouldn't run in the danger area. The danger area is in front of the stumps.. You couldn't even explain how Thompson is quicker ( action wise ). Shoaib akhtar is the quickest in the world mate.

  • @Fezzy015 Thomson is the quickest. End of story, any expert or commentator will tell you that. Has Akhtar ever made a batsman walk off the ground during a test match because he was too scared to face him. No, but Thomson has.

  • @Firefly0100

Mate akhtar was the most feared bowler in his time. He has so many weak points in his action. in your opinion Thompson is quicker , but in mine Shoaib will remain the fastest .

  • Comment removed

  • @Fezzy015 And Thomson was the most feared bowler EVER, the ball is still traveling upwards when it gets to the keeper.

  • @Firefly0100

    Do you believe yourself?

  • @Fezzy015 Yes because I speak the truth. I have provided reasons why Thomson is the fastest and all you have done is attack his action, saying it is 'wrong'.

  • @Firefly0100

Which reasons did you provide? only that holding said thompson bowled at 110?.. I have mentioned some negative points about his action. You have done nothing mate.

  • @Fezzy015 You're just an idiot. ANY former international cricketer or expert will tell you that Thomson is the fastest of all time, and another reason I provided was that Jeff Thomson actually made a test batsman walk off the field while batting because he was too scared to face him. Pretty sure Akhtar never did that. Akhtar is not even in the top 3 fastest of all time. Not even close.

  • @Firefly0100

Mate if Akhtar played in that time he would've broken some heads. In that time they didn't even use helmets. That thompson is quicker than Akhtar is just a myth. you dont even know anything about cricket , dont know anything about how an action should be etc. dickhead.

  • @Fezzy015 I know a lot more about cricket than you, you're just an arrogant prick who thinks he is always right. Your opinion is only shared by people from Pakistan. You don't decide how an action should be, everyone's action is different. Anyone with a brain can admit that Thomson is a lot faster than Akhtar and you're just a complete and utter moron who thinks they are right about everything but actually has no idea what they are saying.

  • @Firefly0100

I dont have a idea what im saying? i came up with al those reasons. You cant decide how a action should be i know. But you CAN make improvements in your action. And as i can see thompson hasn't that good a action/runup. Why dont you tell me anything about Akhtar's action ? and dont talk like a kid with your moron and shit .

  • @Fezzy015 All those reasons? All you have done is say that Jeff Thomson action is 'wrong', You can see by watching this video. This was Akhtar's fastest ball ever, and just a random ball of Thomson's, Akhtars ball was played away with ease. Thomsons ball was still going up as it got to the keeper. That is 22 yards for the length of the pitch plus the 15+ yards the keeper is standing back. You are an idiot, look at the facts and listen to people who faced Thomson/watched him bowl.

  • @Firefly0100

No i didn't say that is action was only wrong. I told you about his leg , his follow through when he falls away , he stops at the crease. And mate a ball from behind looks always quicker than a ball from the front. and Akhtar even had a ball that went over the keeper. So you are telling me this only because michael holding said it ? dickhead.... I told you al the facts you are just crying like a little bitch.

  • @Fezzy015 You have no facts, you have opinions. You can tell by watching that Thomson is faster, even at the end of his career after all his arm injuries he was still bowling 160km/h (this was the first time his pace was measured) and he was bowling considerably slower than back in his prime. Also Richie Benaud, Michael Holding, Malcolm Marshall. One ball Thomson bowled flew over the keepers gloves and the sightscreen, without bouncing. This was at the WACA . Has Akhtar ever done that?
