Shawnee is not a great college. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! It is cheap because 75% of the faculty staff are adjuncts (meaning they usually only have Bachelors degree), hardly any professors have masters. They pay their faculty shit, $1,300 per class for a semester, so hardly anyone with a master want to teach for that low. There are a few good professors, but a lot are a joke, and most programs are a joke as well, especially 3-D gaming/animation. Its cheap because they hire cheap professors.
I'm a SSU grad, class of 89 BA, I have a great Job, Great wife, Nice home, Truck, Harley, Boat. Life is what you make it. I enjoyed SSU & being greek (DSP). Some people will never have anything despite having a degree from where-ever. It's all about Attitude!
Good luck finding a job that isn't minimum wage once you graduate. Shawnee's post graduate placement program is... a cardboard box in career services. I kid you not.
I had a hard time also but I also had a liberal arts degree that was not specialized. By the way, Career Services is not a job placement service. That is probably one of the biggest misconceptions about what they do as an office. Good luck!

Why would you hire a chinese girl who barely know english to teach english!!??? STUPID! Everybody in the bursars and the housing office are mean to you. And the food is terrible!! Im warning everybody.. DO NOT come here unless you want to be in pre-med.

Gonna go to it next year if everything permits. This seems like such a true dream. Loving the gaming facilities they have. I'm taking game design next year :D
Portsmouth Ohio seems like a nice place. Another youtube subscriber, cherylshuman90210, has videos of your town, and her dad teaches at your college. Sadly his wife just had a heart attack and his daughter is fighting cancer. Anyway, looks like a cute town to me.
The video isn't about the east end of Portsmouth or even wayne hills but Shawnee State. Statistically Shawnee has been the safest university in Ohio for many years. I'm not trying to start something but I just don't see where your point is going. Almost 4,000 students attend SSU so it can't be that bad.
This video makes Portsmouth look too clean and nice. The video needs to go a few blocks up and check out the east end maybe check out wayne hills. Im not so sure anyone would want to come to ssu if they saw the truth about portsmouth

The campus is nothing but nice. Most students have no business near the east end or welfare housing like Wayne Hills.
I've been all over the world and know to avoid the projects. I hope if you came from the east end that you'll aspire to leave it.
