Surprise surprise. Last night 30 Oct 09 she performed for 35 minutes totally unexpected before Jewel came on to do her scheduled show at UAB (Birmingham Alabama). She was great, then there was about a 20 minute break and then Jewel performed for over an hour and a half without a break. Both very talented women. Meiko was so cute the way she wriggled her toes inside her suede knew high boots.

I find this whole genre of breathy female pop artists cloying and I'm kinda fed up with it, but her songwriting, which has been supported on the album by some really well thought out production and arranging, has tremendous commercial potential. It will just be a matter of how much radio exposure it gets.

However, she has little personal charisma and it will be interesting to see if she can come up with enough interesting songs down the line to compensate for it.

honestly, i think everyone needs to chill about twilight and just listen to the song and how well she sings it.

she has an amazing voice, and twilight shouldn't be involved.

I like the books and I don't feel like finding the comment but she probably said that it would fit New Moon, which it does. The guy leaves her and she gets really low, and this would work for that. I'm not saying it should be on the soundtrack, although if it was, we'd have a good studio mp3 of it, so I wouldn't mind if it was.

Meiko rocks. Very sweet, personable, genuine, talented, amazingly powerful live voice. I've seen her play 10 times in the OC and LA. (Even tried asking her out. Got shot down, of course, but gently.) Make sure you see her if she's in your hood and buy a CD.
