I don't know. As I said in the description, I only noticed that it's incorrect when I was editing. I was very surprised to find that's not how it's supposed to be pronounced! I guess that's how people said it in the place where I grew up ... or was it just me? As I said I found many people have written "ashphalt" and "ashphelt" online, so I don't think it's just me. Anyway ... now I have a topic for "Wednesday Mistake" :)
