When Nellie was whiping the horse like 100 times then fell, Laura got the blame from Mrs. Olsen when Laura warned Nellie she was hurting it/whiping to hard and to many times, Mrs. Olsen got mad at Laura. Nellie is a stuck up snob!
At 35:18, Pa says "Laura..." He NEVER says "Laura." He always says "Halfpint." It's quite a refreshing change and it certainly seems more intimate than the typical "halfpint." :)

Nellie never should have had the horse in the first place. She's too mean and not the least bit caring and loving. I'm glad that Nels gave Laura the horse in the end.
I think at first, Nellie really COULDN'T feel her legs, but then at 8:15, the feeling came back right then and there. She's rubbing her feet and looks totally relieved. Although it was still low and rotten how she made it seem like she was crippled.
Me! I would have loved to have slapped Harriet for being her usual mean self. I mean, Nellie was whipping that horse repeatedly. How was the animal supposed to react to such meanness?! Nellie deserved to be thrown from the horse. She never deserved to even own the poor animal. I'm glad Nels told Laura that she could have the horse in the end.
Mr. Oleson seemed so touched when Laura placed her hand on his arm and gave him a hug. You could tell he rarely got that from his own children. Well Willie became affectionate later on. But still, it was so sweet, he was right, Laura was quite a little girl.
