the early days of kane and toews denis absolutely right you can have skill or not so skilled team but if theres no commitment then it means nothing i heard patty took savy's firing hard go down a few years and the blackhawks have thy're fourth cup and denis still around the blackhawks are a family now before the salary cap detoured the team into a challenging summer and up coming season no worrys they the blackhawks will stay cmpetitive and nothing will take 2010's cup from them
This is way Savy is a Hall of Famer. All players and coaches should understand this message. Savy is a big part of where the Hawks are today. Great player, coach and man.
a great player and coach. very necessary comments then and it turned the team around. too bad they didnt keep him around. love ya savvy, you are a part of this years success whether you are behind the bench or not. GO HAWKS!!
It's too bad he wasn't coaching players who loved the game like he did. You can count on one hand the players today who had his passion. Not to mention the fact that they tinkered with the game so much it barely resembles the game in his era
I grew-up watching Denis Savard's antics on the ice. He was great to watch.
But you have to realize what Rocky Wirtz is trying to do is make the Chicago Blackhawks a winner again, only this time win the Stanley Cup.
A couple of years ago, Savard would not have been like this as a head coach, but now, he knows about the new era and how important it is to heal the damage caused by "Dollar Bill."
Just wait, the Blackhawks will be an elite team to watch in 2008-09 and beyond.
Savard and Tallon are not the problem, they are the cure. Its cancers like Havlat that bogged the Hawks down. If you think this spech wasnt aimed right at Havlat, you dont know Hawks hockey. (he did play one of his 30 some games that night) Rocky did a great job, especially in promoting Pulford to a position where he can no longer hurt the team!COMMIT TO THE INDIAN!
THIS TURNED THE SEASON AROUND!!! The hawks wouldn't have had a playoff run this season if Savy didn't light this fire under their ass. Commit to the Indian!!
Sorry Big Papa...But the savardian spin a rama was actually performed by legendary Montreal Canadiens defenceman SERGE Savard, not Denis...The phrase was first used by Hockey Night in Canada play by play announcer Danny Gallivan...(The best there ever was)
Was this after the Blackhawks lost to the Red Wings?
