This makes me want to go read the books! The fact that they were all written BEFORE 1940 is kind of amazing, so modern for the time ( i mean nowadays we think Mars schmalz, but this author wasn't held back by any "desensitization" to space or concepts that we see as a norm in books and movies now. He came up with some pretty amazing stuff!! I hope this movie turns out well but i'm sure disney is going to do it right.

@MrStGeorgeIllawarra Andrew Stanton had test screenings that had a 75-80% approval of the film, rating it from good to excellent, this was unfinished with no special effects or music!

Do you know what Andrew Stanton did, he went back and re-shot the scenes that caused confusion and hurt the story!

HE fixed the problem when most directors would have been satisfied with those numbers, but he wasnt he wanted to do it right!

I read the entire Mars series as a kid; John Carter is sacred to me. I would suggest people to read the books first, they are quite amazing. Yes, I know many of you have been spoiled by instant gratification and glitzy 3D CGI, but nothing can compare to the rich settings and exciting exploits detailed in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Mars books.
