@filipasusanafreitas My suggestion is: try to keep away from people who hate you, as far as possible.
Low esteem is not altogether a bad thing if it means you will act in a more humble manner, but not if you are harming yourself or others as a consequence.
Lilie, Carl Rogers was heavily into research but that trend tended to diminsh after his death. Whereas the CBT research program really kicked off. Rogerian work can be as effective in general cases as CBT but I think that it does not fit as well wih the zietgeist.
I am in my third year of getting my B.A. in psychology specific to substance abuse. My primary guide of theoretical orientation will primarily be Cognitive added with R.E.B.T. with my future clients. I find it interesting that Rogerian therapy is glossed over to a large degree. I know that it is absolutely client centered, perhaps this takes more work on the part of the therapist to practice?
Thanks for your comment. I think that the next film I post may answer your questions more fully. i fyou can wait for that, it will be posted in a few days.
That does seem like a negative interpretation. It is always inportant to start from where you are and move forward in a direction, more or less of your choosing, What has passed is passed but making your future turn out how you want it to be is a consequence of putting effort into making changes in the present that are in line with your goals for yourself.
One upshot from this: while watching this I can feel myself feeling bad because I am thinking that I am not as successful as you. Why not? I don't believe I am less intelligent than you, but you seem to be happy, but I am not. This does not seem fair. I can only surmise that I have made stupid errors in my life which have contributed to this negative regard towards myself, because of the way my life has turned out. Why couldn't I work this out for myself? I must be stupid.
If the brain, as you say, makes mistakes, short-cuts and jumps to the wrong conclusions, can we really say we know anything? Is this any reason NOT to feel depressed about the world? Buddhist monks maintain that everything is an illusion and I tend to agree with them. Now you are going to say that no reason NOT to feel happy, I suppose?
My spouse can make me feel physical pain with one word or a look. Am I empowering her to do that?
thank you for this video, i can find it's a lot of logic in what you're saying.. i wish this was a big part of our school system :)

Thanks for commenting. We have all the power and control we need but we give it away.
