If you have a 5-speed, yes you will feel some difference. You will have better throttle response and with a 91/93 tune you can get about 10-15hp out of it.
If you have an auto, YES. Tuners firm up and adjust the shift points in autos.
okay i have a v6 stang and i have a problem. every time i do a burn out i only get the right rear wheel spinning...and i hear people talking about a T-Loc. what does that do for the v6's..i would like to know
V6 cars came stock with an open differential. Under power the passenger wheel is the only wheel getting power. A T-Lok is a limited slip differential (called posi-trac by GM). It will allow both rear tires to have power applied to them under acceleration. It doubles your traction under power. You will no longer be a "one wheel wonder" or a car with a "peg leg." You need a 7.5" T-Lok for your V6 or you could swap the whole 8.8" rear end out of a GT. They came stock with a T-Lok.

I also added 3:73 gears with it i did it myself at boces. Youll have much better take off with the two wheel burnout and the gears help tremendsly! about 500$ but its deffentially work it!
My 500 mile break in took about two weeks. I made a few "short" 100 mile trips right after the install. I paid $210 for my T-Lok. A T-Lok is a must if you are getting gears. It will give you double the traction under power. If you have an auto I would definitely get 4.10 gears, a T-Lok and a shift kit.
I went with SCT because 90% of custom tuners use SCT. I have three custom tunes from BamaChips on my SCT. If you get gears make sure you get a T-Lok also. For my gears, T-Lok, fluids, and install I paid a grand total of $700. Worth every penny.
The Borlas weren't stingers. They were ProXS turbo style mufflers. As you said, way to quiet and prone to drone (haha, I'm a poet...).
The 3.73's are the best mod I've done so far. The acceleration really picked up and has a feeling of more torque getting put down. My gas mileage actually improved in town and on the highway I still get 28-30mpg cruising at 70mph.
I never did a comparison test before/after but, as it stands now I can run with stock 96-98 non-PI GTs.
Well, I like the way it sounds and don't give a damn about what others think about. To each is his own right? Frankly I think it sounds better than every other V6 out there with Flowmasters on them. It also sounds 10x better than the Borlas that were on there.
Good Job.

dont like the sound not deep enough. too raspy even for a mustang v6.

@Japopeye
Fair enough. I added and X-pipe and it help smooth out the sound a bit.
This video is pretty poor at showing the sound. It was taken under a car-port so the sound echos.
Take a look at my other video if you have the chance.

When I put in 3.73 gears in my car, I gained gas mileage in town. On the highway I still manage a steady 28mpg.

we have the same model but mine has only 100k miles on it, i have a question, with the mods uv made, how many HP does it give??? thanks!
johnofarch14 1 year ago
@johnofarch14
Stock it has 193 at the crank, with the mods I have it is probably around 210-215.
So at the wheels I'd estimate around around 180. I haven't got a change to dyno it yet.
