  • The drums are superb, one of Pearts best.

  • @1896danr so true, I saw them last year and they rocked

  • That opening gives me goosebumps.

  • my god they've aged

  • @CidJo1 but they are still going strong

  • I like how Alex is just alone up there in front

  • Guys... stop the arguing and enjoy one of the best live performances the world has seen please. All that matters on this video is how fucking awesome rush are!

  • Again, James 1:V 19.. No biggie relax..

  • @TheShel8777 "Quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry". Completely unrelated; you're the one taking interpretive liberties and giving the lyrics extra meaning where there isn't any. The only connection between this song and Christianity is how it lambasts the demagogues whose xenophobia brought about such atrocities of justice as the Salem witch trials, though it extends beyond Christian workings, of course.

    That's all. Good day.

  • @Hectic145 Unrelated? You can't be that blind sir. Nevermind. I'm sorry. Good day.

  • awesome song

  • i want geddys hair

  • the lyrics describe my uncle brutus to a t

  • These SAME guys wrote "Tom Sawyer," huh? *smirk*

  • this is one of my favorite songs and Geddy, my favorite best bass player.

  • Nothing against Alex or Geddy (I love them both as well), but as a drummer, I'd like to see more of Neil and his kit!

  • Anonymous's anthem?

  • Excellent beat on the path to know and understand !

  • i´ve been listening to every rush album in chronological order and have arrived at the following question... Do they make Neil Peart coffee mugs?

  • My dad played this to me when I was 4.

    I was scarred to death.

  • This was when they were at the top of their game. I thankfully got to see them twice in the 80's. They still kick ass to this day.

  • heavy

  • double dose of instruments

  • oui ...Geddy Lee is most definitely a mind blowing musician with many talents

  • Ignorance, fear and prejudice walk hand in hand, one of the most awesome and truest lyrics ever penned by Neil, just a GREAT song, and a powerful message!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • @poisson647 best word to describe Rush in concert, have seen many bands since first concert in 1971, and that includes, Zep, Pink Floyd, Tull, Trower, Steve Winwood, Paul Butterfield, Rare Earth and others, but no one touches Rush when it comes to sheer power and the ability to fill an arena with sound. Only other band that came clsoe was the Moodys when Michael Pinder was on the mellotron!!!

  • those who say rush sucks need to watcha

  • Goddamn, they're fanfuckintastic!!!!!!! lol

  • best friggin band to see live, their sound fills the arena like no other group can, it's just awesome when you hear them do this live!!!!

  • I love the tone of Alex's guitar in this, its really crisp and atmospheric

  • Quick to judge, quick to anger.

    Slow to understand.

Only Rush can make such a simple line give me chill bumps.

  • @Ekofu ignorance, prejudice and fear walk hand in hand, this was the third installment of the parts of fear, when i saw them on this tour they played Enemy Within, The Weapon, and witch Hunt in order, was absolutely awesome, i was just ehthralled and captivated by the music and kept thinking, these guys are unreal!!!!!

  • @Ekofu

Totally with you there. Best line.

  • @Ekofu Its from the Bible.. Now club me over the head for it- like the song says not too..

  • @TheShel8777 I can neither deny nor confirm this, but I never said Rush came up with it. Just the delivery. Try to start a comment battle elsewhere

  • @TheShel8777 Sorry, but that simply isn't true, it's all Neil speaking here. No head clubbing, though, we're more reasonable than that.

  • @Hectic145 Read James 1:verse 19- Sorry sir, but Neil Got that from the Bible, and twisted the words to show the hypocrisy of people who are false in the Christian faith.

    That's all. Good day.

  • i enjoy it

  • I think all of moving pictures was played better live during grace... this one, and vital signs for sure....

    THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!

  • Machine Head's cover of this song brought me here... this is fkin fantastic!

  • First time I heard this song I got chills for the next year!!!

  • RUSH ,RUSH best band eveeeeer!!!

  • saw this tour , not sure where this is filmed but Rush does not do bad shows, best I know.

  • @j2bodydouble I'd have to say they were better than Iron Maiden when I saw them...

  • Such a great fucking song...

  • Best 'Witch Hunt" of all-time. No question. One of the absolute greatest performances of an Artist's work, to boot....

  • @mazrio128 I don't know, the one off of Snakes and Arrows Live is pretty damn good

  • I can't believe it! It sounds so much better then the album version. A true piece of art it's no wonder they've been making music for so long, Keep on rocking rush!

  • @TheMinecrafting12 I totally agree!!! I love this version more than the album version!!! To think the album version couldn't be more excellent, you get this!!!! :)

  • Its such a smart song..There are so many...I love throwing the lyrics to this and Mystic Rythms @ people...Or having them listen to Jacobs Ladder, not just listening to a thunderstorm but hearing the dynamics

  • Absolute...goosebumps...

  • Fucking amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • i got all excited because it said under the video "Playing At House Of Blues, Boston on Aug 30, 2011", so I clicked it, and it turned out to be Big Time Rush

WTF WHY MUST THEY TEASE ME???? ARGGGHHHH!!!!

  • @miiwii93 Same with me! I saw "playing at the Champlain Valley Fair in Vermont" and it was Big Time Rush.

  • isso é musica!!!

  • Best fucking band of all time PERIOD.

  • Is there a CD version of this performance of this song?

  • @BKA320 I got the MP3 from Amazon.com myself, but I doubt there is any sort of commercially available copy of this on CD.

  • @RedSharkMan: OK, thanks.

  • This song is pure brilliance,Just like Jacob"s Ladder,Force Ten....Limelight,In The End...You catch this band at its best...Its Rush, enough said..I am headed to Cleveland next year

  • @Tod661 Only gets better with time. Trust me.

  • 5 people are witches. Hunt them down.

  • @Chriskkboongg Trust me when I say this, no recording of any kind could possibly do justice to seeing "witch-hunt" live. I have seen these 3 fine men many times, but this song live?

  • 5 people are fans of Justin Bieber.

  • Canadians.... Who woulda thought? lol

  • 5 people should be hunted & burned at the stake!

  • @JimmyVincent718 Indeed, those 5 have no idea this song is not about witches at all, LMAO.

  • i am a super big rush fan, and although i didn't care for the change they made on grace under pressure, this live concert was one of the best of all bands at the time, and this is one of rush's best songs, i wish i was there to see this,

  • @vanhalen515084 I'm with you on that one brother, I would love to have been there

  • My forever Rush Fav..I have seen it so many times...Its so brilliant

  • @Tod661 mine too!!! saw them do this live and all i can say is, AWESOME!!!!!

  • If you heard only the audio of this would think that this is a whole damn marching band or something !!! Not just three canadian dudes !!

  • This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.

    Better then studio version.

  • @WorkingThemAngels Rush is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, bands of all time.

  • Don't hunt the witchs!

  • I DID BUY THE CDs OR IN MY CASE THE CASSETTS

  • GUP and Power Windows tour was the peak performance of Rush!! Still going strong but those two were shit!

  • RUSH rules, end of story

  • Perhaps the best performance of this tune available.....while not being a huge Rush fan....living in a border town (niagara falls USA)...brought the occasion to see then countless times in the 70's....I do have many of their LP's.....with this ....Moving Pictures being my favorite.....I agree that for thee (3) musicians....theiir sound is incredibly deep and complex///Rock on Geddy

  • I photographed Rush in 74 and 77. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • THERE IS NOT BAND THAT HAS THE WORLDS BEST BASSIST, BEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD AND THE BEST GUITARIST IN THE WORLD PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME... RUSH IS 1 MILION LIGHT-YEARS FROM OTHER BANDS.

  • theyres another performance just like this 1, its the weapon song. apperently theyre some 3 part story bout fear

  • Dear "Mike. . ." Isn't this as stupid as any bureaucracy that ever was? Or, perhaps a prejudice against Canadian origin bands? There are one-hit wonders in the "Hall", but NOT RUSH?!?! What the *)(*&*&#$!@&^@#$!!!!

  • @gdgoetzpoetofmerit Agree. I am 21 years old and i always thought they would be there. My dad always did tell me, they deserve more credit they get. I love Rush! It doesn't add up to me. Well, Rush is far to good for it anyway.

  • @WorkingThemAngels The only group that can go "toe-to-toe with Rush maybe is Triumph! What I cannot believe is how stupid the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame is for NOT inducting RUSH!!!

  • @gdgoetzpoetofmerit WHAT!! How the hell are they not in the Rock-N-ROLL hall of frame?

  • @gdgoetzpoetofmerit considering the hall of fame is in cleveland and that was the first US city to play them on the radio. can't even express how much i love these guys

  • @sherylfloridausa Sheryl, your statement is worth volumes in praise, from me. Being from Cleveland, I remember those early days of Rush tunes gracing our radio waves on our little Japanese transistor radios, listening to the earphones trying to push mopre base so we could hear Getty's bass lines better WMMS-FM Radio. And, I DO love the Fame the Hall has brought Cleveland, but it has also, continuees to bring "Shame" to us every day we DON'T put Rush into our "blessed" Hall!

  • @WorkingThemAngels how was the show?

  • @sebewtf Ive been to a Rush concert, September 25, 2010. Best night of my life, great show. But, I ate a foul big pretzel there, and I had to spend 5 minutes in the restroom. MISSED THIS SONG! Blasted pretzels......

  • @WorkingThemAngels How was the show?

  • epic fail to not get the final cymbal crash.

  • @WorkingThemAngels Well, thats easy,...ITS RUSH !!

these guys are the ULTIMATE musicians, I have been saying that for over 30 years !!

NO one is in the same RELM as the best TRIO EVER !!!

  • greatest version of this song ever captured....

  • 5 people couldn't get tickets to this show.

  • @DXanthro GOOD ONE..!!! LOL

  • Whoever thinks Rush is soulless wank needs to actually listen to this.

  • Karambaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

    Excelente!!!!

  • If I ever needed to teach someone the ways of Rush, this is what I would play for them.....works every time!!

  • The "Grace Under Pressure" tour was their very best! I waited from Sunday at 2pm until Monday at roughly 4:30am (when wristbands indicating ticket purchasing order were dispensed) at the Long Beach Arena. It was a good month prior to this taping at Concord, Ca. I crapped my pants rather than step away from the line that pressed forward 10 abreast and a thousand deep. Rush gave me an experience I could never forget. Well worth the price paid!

  • This is awesome! Alex's tone is great. Love the sound from Neil's electronic equipment! On a sidenote, Geddy must've been paid an awful lot to play that piece of crap Steinberger.

  • I prefer this version over the album one!

  • @witch1991 greatest performance ever of this song...

  • Omg this song SO INTENSELY AMAZING! Probably my all time fav Rush song, if I was forced to pick just one

  • LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!

  • No other band could even attempt to pull off a song like this and be taken seriously. The precision.. gods the precision.

  • "Ignorance and Prejudice" played in reverse..."Satan is giving us money".

  • @mrkevstarr No.

  • love this song cant wait to see them again whoop!!!! ;)

  • To all the musical wannabe shit for brains that ignored RUSH forty years ago because they were too fucking stupid to see the perfection of their musical craftsmanship and give it the place in artistic history it so richly deserves...you can all take a loooong hard suck of my arse...

  • Confident whose ways are best?

    /watch?v=HuuLwn8TUWE

    No ill will intended.

  • Oh god, I can't wait for them to play this (and the rest of the album) here in Vancouver to kick off the summer. This is probably one of my favourite Rush songs ever.

  • Rush just has to be the best band ever. I love the Beatles and Led Zep but jesus every Rush song is pure musical genius

  • @patriot833 Yep.

  • id love to go see them but 100 pound a ticket is expensive

  • @dean7879 DO IT. DO IT NOW.

  • Thumbs up if you've seen RUSH more than 3 times in concert!

  • better than the studio version

  • Thumbs up if you've seen RUSH live in concert!!!

  • @1ring2rule3pigs 4 times last year

  • @1ring2rule3pigs definitely, seen them 4 times!!! last was in 1990 on the Presto Tour in Alpine Valley, wI, just a couple months before Stevie Ray's last concert that August.

  • This words of this song could just as easily apply to political correctness.

  • The dorks in Congress holding the Muslim Hearings can learn volumes from this song alone.

  • screw comments, words cannot describe this..

  • Rock!

  • does not get much better kick ass

  • does not get much better

  • Its Neil's perfect lyric...I love this song, best music and killer words...Its Rush

  • @Tod661 one of many things i love about Rush is that lyrics are always so clear, Geddy's enunciation and clarity are unmatched among rock singers!!!!!!

  • Love Rush have done for many years.....never heard of grace ttho

  • Great energy. Most Granduose, ...as usual ;)

  • hmmm...but wasn't witch hunt on the moving pictures album?

  • @williammorris1 Yes, but this performance is from the Grace Under Pressure tour.

  • Moving Pictures 2/12/1981-2/12/2011

  • 1:20 I don't think anyone can argue that this isn't Neil Peart's signature move.

  • Comment removed

  • love this live and get goosebumps from the guitar, bass, keyboard... can't get enough

  • I think that this song is better live that studio , don't you ?

  • Does it get any better then that??

  • I love how an entire row air drums at 1:41.

  • Best fucking band ever... PERIOD!!!!!!

  • For some reason, this makes me think of the current political scene in the US.

  • My favorite Rush song, crank it up.

  • God damn lovely!

  • @WorkingThemAngels ours is not ask why...just to thank god they do...saw them 3 times last summer cant wait for more ths year

  • The only problem with this song is I physically cannot crank it loud enough

  • @norty2649 no doubt...whenever i have the top down on my car i try and crank it as loud as possible as i pull into a gas station, 7 eleven or whatevr..people always ask who sings it and what is it

  • the 'smartest' rock stars that ever lived.

  • @miiwii93 ever.ever.ever....

  • 4:20....vocals...and guitar scale...HOLY SHIT

  • I just beat the hell out of my airdrumset.

  • @crowjr2 me too, every time i watch this.

  • @crowjr2 make sure to replace the skins

  • One of my favorite songs on Moving Pictures. I've seen them 4 times in concert. The last tour I saw was Test for Echo in 97'. I wish I've seen them more live.

  • @WorkingThemAngels They aren't human... that's how. ;-)

  • Moving pictures for me took Rush into the fields of true greatness - Witch Hunt and he camera eye, sheer classics. cant wait for the Time Machine tour next year and hear the whole album played - music heaven!!

  • @ripples01 I saw them 8/29/2010, believe me.. it is WELL worth the wait!

  • Just amazing! I find myself defining my path through life not by events so much as through the albums of Rush.......it all began with 2112.

  • I don't know what patch Geddy's using here but it's PERFECT. I like how it kind of has a background chorus sound.

  • Those who know what's best for us, must rise and save us from ourselves

  • Don't want to wish my life away, but roll on May 19th 2011, will be watching Rush, THE GREATEST rock band, live and up close......again!!!

  • @wheelywot Me too mate, MEN arena!!!!! I realy cannot wait,. IM only 22 and ive just discovered this band.

  • @harris361

yeah, MEN areana, see you there lol!!! enjoy

  • @harris361 We'll be in block 102, you have lots and lots of catching up to do, envy you in a way, discovering Rush and their music is truely inspirational...enjoy your Rush journey!

  • @harris361 I'm almost jealous of you. Its been 30+ years since I first heard "Closer to the Heart" live on Exit Stage Left. I listen to it every day, and it still makes me weepy. La Villa Strangiato still gives me chills, and Rush continues to reaffirm how and why I became a crazy Libertarian. Have fun on your journey with these guys.

"I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill."

  • @Boogra Mate La villa Strangiato brings a tear to my eye, Alex lifeson plays with such emotion.

  • gotta love it!

  • 0:01 through 4:47 is the best part!

  • An underrated tune off an underrated album by the worlds most underrated band.

  • Neil's lyrics apply today more than ever. We as parents, politicians, and religious leaders abuse free speech and believe it to be the cause of ALL OF TODAY's problems. Neil's lyrics are incredible to define the problems of today. Liberals and conservatives use (or try to suppress) free speech, to use against any one with whom they disagree. What happened to moderates (and moderation)? "Too quick to judge, too slow to understand. Ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand"
