@Chao5INcarnate, The key words there are "if someone decides to use them". A gun however is made to kill. It should not be freely available to any average Joe off the street. There should be strict regulations to avoid it going into the hands of the kind of nutcases that have caused massacres.

@GerryDisthename You do know most criminals actually order guns directly from the factories, get them on the black market, or use alternatives like knives, which are normally more dangerous because it's easier to handle and usually doesn't require training to be proficient with one, right? Besides, Mexican cartels(which are thriving as we speak) are now making enough money to transport RPG's, so maybe we should at least crack down on the black market and whatnot before dealing with gun laws.

Of course crime is crime but in America gun crime is rampant. Over here in Ireland we would have a knife crime problem but little gun crime. It's no surprise because we don't allow easy access to guns whereas knives are freely available. In the US guns are freely available.
I suspect there are no mass shootings at gun clubs in the US because perpetrators enjoy picking on unarmed civilians. That's not an argument for guns though. If America had less guns there would be less shootings.
The two countries in the world that rank above America in terms of crime rate is the UK, and Australia: both have very heavy control laws. You can even see a large spike in crime in Australia when they implemented the heavy gun control laws.

You miss my point though. Why do big shootings happen in places like School and Malls, which are supposed to be gun-free zones, and no mass shootings happen at gun shows ? Where are the mass shootings at gun clubs ?

Of course crime is crime but in America gun crime is rampant. Over here in Ireland we would have a knife crime problem but little gun crime. It's no surprise because we don't allow easy access to guns whereas knives are freely available. In the US guns are freely available.
I suspect there are no mass shootings at gun clubs in the US because perpetrators enjoy picking on unarmed civilians. That's not an argument for guns though. If America had less guns there would be less shootings.

The two countries in the world that rank above America in terms of crime rate is the UK, and Australia: both have very heavy control laws. You can even see a large spike in crime in Australia when they implemented the heavy gun control laws.

Also, in the past year more guns have been sold in America than during most times in our history, however, violent crime has seen the steepest decline in our history. Coincidence? I think not. Not only that, but this occurred during a recession, which is usually marked by a steep increase in violent crime. You simply have no room to tell America how to live.

In regard to Iran, most Americans are fed the propaganda from ours and our ally's media about their intentions. Because not all countries can be trusted with them (I wish no country had them). In my view it's the same with guns. The U.K. actually has a higher rate of crime than the U.S. Most the people who get killed in the U.S. from guns deserve it! That's 100% not true! I don't know where you get you're stats from, but self defense is the most common usage of guns. I've been to NYC, and I'm glad I don't live there! Ask that family that was just slaughtered by 7 people for their money if they "needed" a gun! The 2nd amendment was included as a safeguard against totalitarian power, so that citizens would have the power to protect all their other rights, even if they had to do so against their own government. Also, when attending college my home was broken into twice by armed men. They're dead now, not me, because I was armed too. Only my gun was bought legally. Think on it.
