I hate when this happens. We have had jammers come onto our repeaters and ruin good converstation. What makes me mad is, we got guys in our ham club pissing and moaning about non members using the repeaters. One preticular guy refers to these guys as "freeloading bums" This is not what ham radio needs. Things like this are what keep people from getting their licenses.

Lol, sounds like a couple of operators had alittle more than their share of beer for the night. I rarely hear arguments on the repeaters around here. I've heard only 2 arguments in the past 5 years, one was politically charged & the other was some unlicensed kids that keyed up & cussed out the repeater owner & others talking. Other than that, it's mostly old hams that complain about their XYL's & their health problems, but they are good elmers since most were "big guns" back in their prime.

Well being a ham myself, I can say a couple things about this repeater and ham radio. First off, ham radio is dying, I would encourage any talking on the repeaters. Two, some repeater owners/clubs are so strict it makes you sick. Even talking about current events or family and they go off the deep end and want you to take a hike. (I'll post a video sometime to show what I mean) swearing isn't cool but I condone non-round table conversations. This is 2010, not 1976.

That's a nice looking ICOM 706, I'm not sure how new it is but it looks very new. It's very unfortunate for people to carry there self in such ways. When people act so foolish it really shows how little respect they have for his own self and others. He sounds like someone who spent to much time on the Citizens band radio and forgot what this hobby is about. The "Good ol' boy" system is in full effect in Hampton and Norfolk Va clubs. Your not good enough unless your General or higher attitude.
