I was the same in high school most of the time. The first school was hell because when kids get expelled, they have to send them to school somewhere, and that's where they sent them to. 70% bullies. DX

You were really brave to post this video, it helped me recognize how terrible bullying can be. I feel especially terrible, because I have seen isolation happen at lunch in my school, and even shamelessly participated in it. This video has helped me understand how wrong that is, and I thank you for that. Tomorrow, I will invite EVERY kid I see sitting alone to sit at my table, and if any of my friends disagree, they can have a nice table all to themselves. (BTW do you still eat alone?)
I can relate so much to this. I'm 16 and nobody wants to sit with me. I started homeschooling because school was dragging me down so much where I would get panic attacks just thinking about going back every day. I really know how you feel. :(

I'm homeschooled now but I remember sitting alone a lot in school.I mean I made friends,but the 1st 2 years after moving was really hard and I spent almost that entire time alone.Even after I made some friends I would sometimes sit alone because a lot of my bestfriends were popular and everyone wanted to sit by them. I have never directly been bullied just ignored often.It sucked for me on the bus because you can't sit alone,but no one wants you to sit with them. So I would definetly sit by you.

watching this made me tear-up. I'm living that right now and it's probably one of the lowest feelings i've felt in my life. Eating alone isn't the end of the world, but it hurts. With that being said, I'm learning and gaining strength from the experience.everyday, I tell myself that things will get better. You're not alone : )
I dunno what a freshman is but if you're new then you should expect it to take a while to settle. If it's been like this for a while then either they aren't right for you or you need to become a more out-going person. Find some hobbies that other people are actually interested in as well. Or if you don't have any, start here.

Dont worry about it, all kids in highschool are assholes. I would know, I'm a girl, in my sophomore year of highschool. Highschool kids are constantly worried about who they're friends with, and what people think of them. I'm so sorry that this happens to you. Just know that after highschool, in college, none of that shit matters & your life will improve. I used to have my own group of friends(popular) that I would sit with all up until the middle of my sophmore year and then I was basically pretty much left with 1 friend to hang out/eat with during lunch time or by myself cus anxiety crept up on me..I know its horrible but high school wont matter to you later on...I now still struggle with anxiety especially when it comes to eating in front of people...idk what that phobia is called...just be yourself is all I could say

I eat lunch alone too most of the time and people have reacted the same way. I hope it's better for you this year. I've started bringing stuff to do and that helps, although it doesn't make it any easier. I just think though that I'd rather not sit with people who consider me a freak and ignore me. Be yourself, you'll be out of there soon anyway!

i would sit with you. don't worry about all the other kids they are all insecure - everyone is at that age. if anyone is mean to you it's just because they are scared of being bullied themselves. you have to just forgive them and realise they don't know what they're doing. this will all pass and things will get better no matter how bad they are. stay strong <3

Today was my second day of school. the first we all freshmen ate together and so i had some1 to sit by but today i got lunch with seniors and i dont know anyone. and the other freshmen that also have lunch with me dont want me sitting by them. so i just sat on some table. but seniors came and sat with some dude to my left and i just felt kinda better since i wasnt alone evn though they did want me out of there but didnt say anything to me. and i know im gonna have to make friends.

Steven, one thing to keep in mind is that it is never as bad as it feels. When we are poor we tend to see only the rich. When we are not as atheletic as we like we tend to feel like the greatest jock on the basketball team is the average guy. And for whatever reason when we are not as popular we tend to see only the most popular guy in school. Look around you hard and you will feel better. If that doesnt help remember YOU HAVE MET THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED GIRL IN THE WORLD!! ALI!!

The trick, I think, is to make arrangements with a friend to go and have lunch together... So you walk in together, and eat together... or you arrange to eat, and one waits for the other... That way you have or expect company and you don't dine alone!
I'm cool with or without people. Sometimes I actually prefer to eat by myself as I often meditate while I eat!

@StevenONEDAY The thumbs down doesn't mean exactly that they don't like the video, because maybe it's also of your "attitude". A lot of people would consider it "pathetic", so the dislikes maybe are from these people. In some ways, one can say that you can inspire "pity", and that's not nice from some perspectives.

This video honestly affected me. Just for the mere fact that I've been in your situation before. To be judged and to be criticized by people who serve no good to this world. I used to have my own group of friends(popular) that I would sit with all up until the middle of my sophmore year and then I was basically pretty much left with 1 friend to hang out/eat with during lunch time or by myself cus anxiety crept up on me..I know its horrible but high school wont matter to you later on...I now still struggle with anxiety especially when it comes to eating in front of people...idk what that phobia is called...just be yourself is all I could say

awh dude you seem cool and sweet....listen somewhre in that school there is someone in EXACTLY the same position and you know have one good friend it's better than a thousand fakes....my advice is to choose someone who is kind and just sit and start to chat and remember there are people who care..you just have to find them and dont let anything affect your self esteem and hae fun in school

I eat lunch alone too most of the time and people have reacted the same way. I hope it's better for you this year. I've started bringing stuff to do and that helps, although it doesn't make it any easier. I just think though that I'd rather not sit with people who consider me a freak and ignore me. Be yourself, you'll be out of there soon anyway!

i would sit with you. don't worry about all the other kids they are all insecure - everyone is at that age. if anyone is mean to you it's just because they are scared of being bullied themselves. you have to just forgive them and realise they don't know what they're doing. this will all pass and things will get better no matter how bad they are. stay strong <3

U knw when I get in high school (a class of 6000) I'ma sit by ppl tht sit alone. I do it n junior like I sit with the loners at lunch. It is sad ur right! I cnt help u but I can help others. Btw I do hav frands n I do sit with them n I nvr sit n the same spot or with the same person 2 days n a row... N are cafeteria is huge! Stick in there! DAng. Today was my second day of school. the first we all freshmen ate together and so i had some1 to sit by but today i got lunch with seniors and i dont know anyone. and the other freshmen that also have lunch with me dont want me sitting by them. so i just sat on some table. but seniors came and sat with some dude to my left and i just felt kinda better since i wasnt alone evn though they did want me out of there but didnt say anything to me. and i know im gonna have to make friends.

That's what I did when I was eating alone. I hope this year.. "Sophmore year" will be better and I will meet new people and sit by them.

Steven, one thing to keep in mind is that it is never as bad as it feels. When we are poor we tend to see only the rich. When we are not as atheletic as we like we tend to feel like the greatest jock on the basketball team is the average guy. And for whatever reason when we are not as popular we tend to see only the most popular guy in school. Look around you hard and you will feel better. If that doesnt help remember YOU HAVE MET THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED GIRL IN THE WORLD!! ALI!!

So everyone knows to leave me alone, and plus no one in my school has the time to go make fun of someone and start a fight, "I asked to sit by people and they said no" It sucks, but yeah. The trick, I think, is to make arrangements with a friend to go and have lunch together... So you walk in together, and eat together... or you arrange to eat, and one waits for the other... That way you have or expect company and you don't dine alone!
I'm cool with or without people. Sometimes I actually prefer to eat by myself as I often meditate while I eat!

@StevenONEDAY The thumbs down doesn't mean exactly that they don't like the video, because maybe it's also of your "attitude". A lot of people would consider it "pathetic", so the dislikes maybe are from these people. In some ways, one can say that you can inspire "pity", and that's not nice from some perspectives.
However, it's not my viewpoint. I know that sitting alone sucks.

This video honestly affected me. Just for the mere fact that I've been in your situation before. To be judged and to be criticized by people who serve no good to this world. I'm so sorry that you have to encounter this daily at your school. It bothers me the most that you would offer to sit next to your peers and they come up with an excuse and not give you a chance. It's quite pathetic and I feel bad because it's discrimination. If I went there, we would have fun! Don't give in or give up!
