You have to have a high action to get weed whacker strings to sound good. Take a look at the bridge I built and the curve of the top of my bridge. The E and A has to be higher than what steel strings require. I made a bridge video on my channel check it out to see how I got weed whacker string to sound good.

ok, i got weedwackers and i put them on my bass and the tension was soo low i couldnt get a good sound out of them, how did you get yours to sound that good? and also the e string was so thick that i had to carve down the tip to fit into tuner lol

Anywhere from $399 to one I saw on ebay going for $21,000. The quality of those under $700 is questionable, you would have to definately try before you buy. But you can find fairly good quality from $700 to $2000.

For the slaps against the fingerboard, I think the way to do it would be to use an X-shaped note head. I'm not sure how to notate the slapped NOTES though.
