I have a question...

I am making a video using this program, and I am having the hardest time figuring how to take audio out of slides when I don't want audio in my video. Is there any way to fix this? Someone plase help me with this! Thank you!

i had the worst experience with Roxio Creator 2010 Pro. I thought that the "Pro" version would have some neat stuff but it was very basic stuff on even the "Pro version for $150 I expected more. After installing I couldn't watch Blu Rays anymore with my Cyberlink software. So pretty much an entire waste of money. On Ebay I got a brand new Deluxe version of Pinnacle Studio just not the latest version for $50. I am happy with it.

I purchased Creator 2011. I'm learning how to use it, but one thing I can't seem to find in video effects, is simple 'fade in' or 'fade out'! Otherwise, I feel I'm going to like this program. I do a lot of video editing.

Roxio is good, but many of its functions can be done for free:

Photo editing-GIMP

Audio editing-Audacity

Video conversion-Any Video Converter (ANC)

If you're serious about video editing, you must get professional software like Sony Vegas. Roxio cannot do keyframing, despite what the packaging might imply, so its usefulness is limited to chroma keying and cutting.

@mprutherford there are lots of people who buy programs. I'm proud to be one of them. If we don't buy programs, producers will not create anymore programs so you will not have what to crack and hack. So, keep in mind: as long as you still find and download illegal software there are still enough of us who to buy it, so the producer of that program keeps earning and developing future programs.

I have used VideoWave in the past, and it works well. The only thing i noticed, it was unstable, although i used an older version. Roxio also has a good audio converter.

For creating DVDs I use DeVeDe, great freeware option. You can easily create a custom menu with or without audio, picture background etc

@DaveSimonH My mac came with iDVD. Can create motion menus, pre-menu content, and has other features. :) There are some really nice freeware DVD programs out there too. I'll have to give this one a try.

I create digital media and this is not the software for me. No one who is mildly serious about video editing uses something like this. Burning blu-rays is all it's good for if you use Final Cut or something that doesn't do that well. But I guess if your not too into all that this works ok. However if you have a Mac you don't need this. You can get by great with iLife.

Btw After Effects isn't a video editor. It's a visual effects program. Not comparable.

I love Roxio software! I have an old version.

I love the Sound Editor...have used it alot in the older version. Very useful and can do sooo much with it!

Never used Photoshop...but use other programs. I would look forward to using this one.

@zerocaster101 especialy if they have windows 7 and do that. Not that I don't like the dock, I prefer OSX... But the new taskbar in windows 7 is great as is and is a perfect combo of the OSX dock and a standard windows taskbar, it is awesome as is...
