This makes me so happy. I am currently in the "bills to pay" phase, but I have already decided to take another long ride next year. This summer it was West to East, ocean to ocean. Next summer I'm going North to South, from the Canadian border to the border with Mexico. Not quite as long, but certain to be beautiful. I am counting on this song to keep me motivated this winter. Hope it will inspire you to take another journey, too. Faved!
@songblurred Thanks for your kind comments. I'll be looking forward to hearing about your trip next summer. Don't delete the GPX tracks this time! :) Do you know yet what path you'll be taking?
@carmen75013 I am thinking of following the Sierra Cascade route mapped by Adventure Cycling. It runs from Sumas, WA, to Tecate, CA, 2389 miles in all. I like what your Papa said to you. My dad might have said the same thing. We are lucky, you and I.
This song, as well as your adventure, reminds me of my old escapes in the late sixties, although I wasn't going by bicycle. But it was certainly an escape from the daily routine, and a communion with nature and other lands.
In these times, however, I go on with my bike on a daily basis; and even if I don't leave the city, they are moments to myself, and I clear my mind.
bless your beautiful heart....it is full of music.....
