Jazz artists of this era took the beat away from the bass drum and kept time with the cymbal, at a fast tempo in order to differentiate it from swing and in the process elevate it to a higher art form.
Wow, I wish I was born earlier to be able to be a part of THAT scene. MUch cooler than what we have today. Thanks to people like you for keeping Bird alive...
Great tribute. I remember seeing 'trane there in the early 60s, I was sitting in the "peanut gallery", as a teen. All that's missing is Pee Wee Marquette in his Phillip Morris uniform. :)
Bebop and Destruction tune Danger 3rd rail. The original music I had fit the photos way better but had some copyrite problems.

Regrets? None...oh wait, just one. Not seeing Charlie Parker at Birdland.
You see I was born in 1948. Darn.

the original birdland is not there anymore, there is another on at a different location.

Is birdland still there in New York?

Well, I expected to hear Bird playing, but I guess the lyrics fit, even if the music destroys the whole vibe associated with him.
I'd say use a different music track. Not to be critical. Some of the pictures I've never seen, so thanks Frank.
