Ultimately, the fault lies with Toronto for having to have been relying on an Islanders loss to make the playoffs, but maybe the NHL can be a little more pro-active with its scheduling so that games aren't so uneven towards the end of the season. Maybe have every team have like 6 games left in the final 2 weeks of the season and then play every team's last game on the last day of the season...it's an idea. It at least would put teams on an equal footing towards the end of the season...

Ultimately, the fault lies with Toronto for having to have been relying on an Islanders loss to make the playoffs, but maybe the NHL can be a little more pro-active with its scheduling so that games aren't so uneven towards the end of the season. Maybe have every team have like 6 games left in the final 2 weeks of the season and then play every team's last game on the last day of the season...it's an idea. It at least would put teams on an equal footing towards the end of the season...

Oh BS Don, the Devils played Clemmenson on purpose to stick it to the Leafs? I was at that game in Jersey and I have the puck from that game and it was a historic game not only for the Isles, but for hockey in general. We were 100-1 we would make the playoffs and pulled off the upset.

I remember that game between the Habs and Leafs, I was watching it at a bar right around the corner from the ACC, that was the best game I've ever seen. 6-5 Leafs, fuck the Habs, it was funny watching all the Habs fans almost in tears after the game while Leaf Nation packed the streets and celebrated.
