  • I know the solution.. I think.. I had the same problem but it passed. At first: make shure everthing is correctly connected. Update drivers and / or FW turn off computer Now: (remember computer is turned off) everythings is plugged in! start FF UC Start pc open systemsettings check FF UC to be primary device for Input AND Output!!!! open: Audio-Midi-Setup and make shure FF UC is selected Reset all configuration to default. FF UC should work probably now!
  • audacity? what a joke

  • Okey guys, it's seems like on the Macbook Pro's , the fireface has this problem on the i3 processors, but not on the i5 or the i7. I recently bought a new macbook pro 17 " with the i7, and I could do everything without any crackle playback, sleep, replug, turnoff on the device. Works perfectly. So if you're going to buy a new computer get it with the i5 or i7. But if you're still on the i3, my only tip is that you do what I did, reboot before every use. Good luck!

  • I have the exact same problem with my Fireface 800. How did you solve it?

  • go to your driver setup, and switch in and out to your rme. had same problem. my daw was trying to use my internal soundcard.

  • @StressFreeWorldWide : My internal soundcard is disabled and am using rme as the default recordig/playback

  • have you selected the correct sample rate

  • @darrenguitar yes! Problem still there at different sample rates/ buffer sizes/ limited bandwidth to just 8 analog in/outs ..

  • are you really using audacity?

  • In Windows world you can't use two (or more) application in the sametime that are using audio resources, when the other application (DAW) is using your audio resource with ASIO driver. You can have them both open it if you have something like "close audio device on minimize" option in your DAW. So I sugges that when you are using your DAW close ALL other applications (like Spotify) that are using the audio card.
