I actually did see the show occasionally it wasn't to bad. If your trying to compare training it would be based on how much each branch is given to train their personal. Marines having fewer bodies to work with are given less money to train. So, if you want to get down to it. We have better "trained" men per personal then any force. Every Marine is a riflemen first then their chosen profession. So when it comes down to it we have the better warriors :-)

I have a cousin who elnisted in the Army National Guard his junior year went to BCT(10 weeks), came back for senior year and that summer went to Infantry AIT(5 weeks), then on to Mortar School (3 weeks). After that he was selected for Airborne school and went there. He then came home and after a few weeks of being back he went to a UAV school and is qualified in that. Then he went to Air Assault school.

@darklion53 Lastly, as for your cousin he's going into a infantry unit by the sounds of things. Yes, they are trained differently then others. Advanced Infatry Training is basic maneuvers learning to be a part of squads, platoon fighting etc. Martar School for 3 weeks sounds like again, very basic. I trained in 0342 which is a mortarman as well as my 0313. Then after my 2nd yr in I tried out for and made Recon. Which leads me to your argument about special forces.

I couldn't do it. A D.I. was in my face screaming at me for no reason or a small reason (like many do)... I would bust my ass off laughing some time or another (especially if they have the classic D.I. voice). I bit through my lips a little trying to keep a straight when when this random Drill Sergeant and his assistant Drill Sergeant from a different company was screaming at me because I have to catch up with my platoon in the chow line ( i was doing a detail).

I actually did see the show occasionally it wasn't to bad. If your trying to compare training it would be based on how much each branch is given to train their personal. Marines having fewer bodies to work with are given less money to train. So, if you want to get down to it. We have better "trained" men per personal then any force. Every Marine is a riflemen first then their chosen profession. So when it comes down to it we have the better warriors :-)

Also, 3:02 is Army. 173rd Aiborne Brigade Combat Team. Based in Vicenza, Italy. Know the patch and duty station by heart (All of us Army should know stuff like that by heart.). Besides, Marine's aren't allowed to carry that much stuff on them. It would hurt their all too precious, valuable, and scarce bodies. Leave the tough shit to the Army and the glory shit to the Marines.

I'd be glad to run circles around 173 Airborne boys any day of the week. As for packing light? We carry for what the mission requires. @daddy3195 He wasnt an Army Ranger in that picture. Maybe a Ranger now but not back then. I only see the Airborne tab on him. Rangers (especially the 75th Rangers) can out do any branch of service in conventional combat. Army Delta Force are best in the world. Only reason you're "running" around them is 'cause. like a dog, when you get excited you run around your master. Nice job altering the quote. He said the a Marine is the dealiest weapon and that doesn't mean the enemy.

The reason why you don't hear about Marine Force Recon is because we want it that way. Less spot light means we can do the jobs that need to get done. High speed low drag. For a finishing note, Marine Corps boot camp when I went through was 3 months. We become the best in a proven way, not everyone can become the best. I have a cousin who elnisted in the Army National Guard his junior year went to BCT(10 weeks), came back for senior year and that summer went to Infantry AIT(5 weeks), then on to Mortar School (3 weeks). After that he was selected for Airborne school and went there. He then came home and after a few weeks of being back he went to a UAV school and is qualified in that. Then he went to Air Assault school.

@darklion53 Lastly, as for your cousin he's going into a infantry unit by the sounds of things. Yes, they are trained differently then others. Advanced Infatry Training is basic maneuvers learning to be a part of squads, platoon fighting etc. Martar School for 3 weeks sounds like again, very basic. I trained in 0342 which is a mortarman as well as my 0313. Then after my 2nd yr in I tried out for and made Recon. Which leads me to your argument about special forces.

I couldn't do it. A D.I. was in my face screaming at me for no reason or a small reason (like many do)... I would bust my ass off laughing some time or another (especially if they have the classic D.I. voice). I bit through my lips a little trying to keep a straight when when this random Drill Sergeant and his assistant Drill Sergeant from a different company was screaming at me because I have to catch up with my platoon in the chow line ( i was doing a detail).
