  • thanks aunty ji.i m from greece.here europion people ask abot samosa.but i wil tell them they check dis vedio.nice to see all ur vedios and indian dishes..thnx

  • You are a great cook.. I love your recipes..

  • what was that dipping sauce? was that a chutney?

  • its awesome

  • How hot should the oil be when frying?

  • frankly hardly anyone makes samosas at home cuz they're so time-consuming. we usually buy them from the shops where they have huge frying frying pans to fry the big samosas. we only made them at home for special occasions but those homemade samosas tasted much better

  • i really admire all your recipies :)

  • I love Samosa!!! Thank you so much for showing how to make them. I have been wanting to know for along time.

  • can this be baked at the end instead of deep friedÉ would it it workÉ

  • Thank's a lot, its great.

  • You make this look so easy!

  • @Mento1400 : use square wonton wrappers, it's not totaly the same, and there will be less filling in each because wanton wappers do not stretch the same, but it will work if you aren't very good with dough. just keep in mind, they will not be nearly as fat.

  • I was thinking about using pie dough-flour, water, salt, oil. Pizza dough as yeast in it. I don't think that would work.

  • @lsc10s : pie dough is made with a solid fat, like shorting, lard, and/or butter, dough made with oil acts differently when cooked, you will end up with something more like a turn over, so try wonton wrappers, or if you are able to find raw pasta dough, it is no where near as good if you do not use the dough used here, but it can do in a pinch if you do not like making dough.

  • hi..can u tell me what is in the filling that would be very helpful thanks...i would love 2 make them..thnks again

  • Hi I am from Chile just returning from India. I loved samosas and I will reply them here. I hope to be able to find the masala. If not What are the main ingredients?

Thank you for the clear recipe¡¡

  • @omguillermo is easy to find the garam masala in any place or supermarket that sell international products. Here in argentina jumbo sells.

  • I just made my first batch of samosas ever , the first ones didn't turn out that well but the rest where pretty good :). thank you for the tutorial Manjula!

    tks,

  • What is sooji?

  • @roygbiv8clubs

    Samolina

  • iss video ke liye shukriya aunty.

  • Thank you! I really enjoy your videos. Sooji, samolina and farina or cream of wheat I believe are names for the same thing.

It's SO hard to find a good samosa even at Indian restaurants, and I love them, so I'm going to make my own.

  • Thanks a lot for putting up this video, as u knw that recipes are available on website, but reading them and watching them makes a huge diff.

Thanks a lot & seems like you are overseas as well.

  • Peace to you Mrs. Manjula and I love your recipes. Please do more and one more thing can you spell the Indian ingrediants so that I can buy them. Or maybe you can put the names on the screen. Thank you and I am waiting to see more.

  • Thanks for the recipe. My daughter is vegetarian and loves these. I tried making them once.Like your recipe and video it is very helpful.

  • Thank you so much Manjulas !!! I'm a french vegan and I love Indian cooking.

Anyway, I have a little question to ask you : what can I use in indian receipe to replace curry leaves? It's difficult to find in france.

    Happy new year !!!

  • hi unevienouvelle,

nothing can replace the smell of curry leaves ...we indians use it a lot...but you can use fresh cliantro instead. The reason we use curry leaves is it is good in vitamin A and it serves as medicin to kill worms in stomach

  • Hello Manjula.. you are so sweet. thanks for the recipie... do u have a video on how to make Naan? and Dosa? Wish you a great new year.. and happy cooking..

  • Happy New Year 2010 Manjula .

Thanks for your recipe . And Hello from France .See you Soon

  • Any idea if you can bake these Manjula??

  • If you want to bake samosa, use store-bought puff pastry. Then, using a pastry brush, coat in an egg-wash (just beat an egg in a dish) and bake to the time and heat for the pastry according to the pack.

  • Yes, but instead of using the dough, use pastry sheets. They're called "veggie puffs".

  • I just finished making this and its in the oven right now. It smells AMAZING and I just want to thank you Manjula! yum yum yum

  • thanks for "north" indian recipe :)

  • Thank you for taking the time to post this. Very helpful and i'm looking forward to making some later!!

  • I would just like to share with you my thoughts of how you make me feel. You are such a kind hearted woman. You are my Auntie and I'm so lucky to have you teaching me your recipes. I was born in India but from Afghanistan. I learning how to cook for my husband and myself. I made your naan and next I would like to make your Aloo Dum and this Samosa recipe. Thank you Auntie.

  • Have to say - ever since I discovered this recipe I've been making huge batches of samosas every weekend. Can't get enough. Only difference is I add some tumeric powder. The part I hate is wrapping them, that's very frustrating. Thanks Manjula!

  • I have a question, the outer layer of samosa is very thin in yr recipe, ,,, Is it going to be crispy after some time u cook or it will be soft ?? I tried 3 to 4 times , and it turned out to be soft samosa , can u tell me how to make crispy samosa ????

  • samosa should be crispy, may be you are frying on high heat.

  • @roseattri I second this! I am also from Afghanistan but all of these recipes are like home cooking for me. Thank you so much for teaching us your recipes. I hope you have many blessings in your life. And also, thank you to whoever records you while you do this. We would not have these lessons without them either!

  • hi manjulaji

i saw your recepi and wondered if you know how to make samosa with owther stuffing

like what is called Navtad samosa made with pulse stuffing

  • you can stuff your samosa with whatever you want - beetroot and onion is really good.

  • You are lovely, many many thanks for putting these recipes online for people who r away from home.

I used to eat loads of aaloo ka samosa when I was in Pakistan, havent had them for a while. I am sure making them tomorrow although will use ready made pastry as find the dough making quite difficult.
