Kafir means uncivilized..whatever untouchability has nothing to do with religion..its state of mind..and its in every culture ..why gympsies of europe or South sudanese black christians are treated in same way as Indian dalits? I do accept Christianity is growing to remove untouchability in India. I consider, Christianity is much better option for Dalits. neither Islam nor Hindusim never does so aggressive reformation as Christianity. Here, my point is not religion, I am talking about poor & poverty. I can trash or accept any religion any number of times for a good cause.

this treatment is due to the caste system afer the Aryans took control the countries economic and social system were completely reastablished in where the darker people called the Untouchables became the lower class. It reminds me of the of wat slavery was like amodern day slavery.

You are right. about 80% of muslims in India (and also Christians and Sikhs) are Dalits. these people were primarily escaping untouchability and other discriminations. but unfortunately, untouchability in various forms is rampant amongst Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains and Budhists. today story is different. ppl in the family have married outside of caste and ethnicity, this is not an exception. this is growing. how much of india practices untouchability? keep in mind even 5% of population is a big number simply due to the large population

nobody denies, but it is on its way out. 3 generations ago in my family you couldn't even mention being even in the presence of a non-brahmin, that includes other hindu castes, muslims, christians, british, whatever you name. hell, even the cooks were brahmin. everything was mlechha, going abroad was mlechha, touching any meat besides goat and fish was mlechha.
