  • The guy with the bad facial hair is amazing. Did I say amazing? I meant a fucking idiot with bad facial hair.

  • Jay has the cash to own any car yet he buys a pre union, pre douche-bag union, lets face it, Jay isn't intrested in a union made piece of dung, unions step in and iconic autos vanish. Union cars are Pinto, K-cars and waste like that. nobody collects or is intrested (historicaly or currently) in buying union made junk.

  • @80DayFog union made? What? Like labour unions?

  • @80DayFog - Don't forget the Volt... Yes, for $40K (plus $250k in gov't subsidies) you too can own a hybrid!

  • How about a video of all your collection there? That would be a wondrous Christmas gift to all of the citizens of this U.S.A.

  • The zen music is making me want to kill someone.

  • @randomunavailable I dunno, it kinda works. it's like, "these be sacred grounds"

  • That little steam engine has about 650 ft pounds of torque.

  • i say por-sh not por-sh-a and i say jag-you-ar not jag-war

  • jay is right about driving a slow car fast

My 1972 Chevy fleet-side half ton blue and white. You want to drive it 55 while the 1996 ford explore u want to drive 70-75 and it way more enjoyable to drive the Chevy the gas mileage suck but it truly worth it , if you drive 60 in the chevy its like ur driving 80 it feels it anyway.

  • This joker doesn't know shit. Disrespectful to the extreme about the topic he's covering... Wow. The tires on the steam car are like today's bike tires. Surprise dick! They were made over 100 years ago! That worked for THAT time. Stick to covering modern cars. Garage 419 wasted my fucking time with this shit, though Jay as always was phenomenal. Too bad they wasted his fucking time with this bullshit.

  • Awesome. A car that actually HAS a steam motor. I want it.

  • @Tyraxio they might be bringing em back!

  • TECUMSEH:D 7:01

  • love Jaye to start with--and I`m an old car buff---love his collection of old cars--

  • Yeah, but he still has a big chin. Cars don't take that away.

  • Did u see Jays ecojet turbine car. It sounds insane and runs on biofuel. I wish I could show Jay my google sci fair video and he could make the ecojet really live up to its name.

Watch and see what u think.

  • fucking ads, I can't afford a brand new goddam alfa anyway

  • Why is that BIG FAGGOT from GARAGE 419 in that garage? He doesnt know shit about cars.

  • @noshabibis Who matt? YEah right he dosnt know anything about cars.

  • @A4Eaton I lol'd at "model T air cooled".

  • I know some people talk shit about Jay, but I could listen to him for days. I like that he's such a car-nut. It's good to know that he's not only preserving a lot of historical automotive pieces but he shares his collection, and has a true passion for the subject. He's not just some rich douche with a big toy collection he knows nothing about.

  • nice collection, but it makes me sad.

  • it's not porsh and it's not porsh-a. it says PORSCHE and it should be read like that - PORSH-É. doesn't matter what the nation that says aluminum instead of aluminium thinks. alright? build your own porsh-a, for now, they are still built in germany, so adapt for god's sake ...

  • @seasonedtoker Actually e's at the end of german words have a specific sound, so yeah it's Porsh-uh.

  • people might think hes dumb because he spends so much on cars, but think about it, if he ever goes bust, he has tens of millions in assets

  • Cool show, annoying commercials!

  • I'm not much of a car fan but this was very interesting to watch. I knew we had steam powered cars but 100+ mph? Thats pretty damn impressive! You wouldnt want to have an accident with that thing lol.

Keep up the great work with your channel :)

  • If it's "bulletproof", what are you ringing up the "guy" for parts to be delivered the next day?

  • If Jay Leno couldn't afford his insatiable appetite for cars, and took it out on food instead, he would weigh more than his tank car.

And what is up with this guy's face. He is two syndromes away from being diagnosed with a deformity.

The reason he excels at comedy is that his face makes people want to laugh.

  • Black ops lobbys from this guy.. even got proof :d/watch?v=NQtYkMzuGtg

  • ths is kinda awkward

  • and here he bitches about money (poor rich people they must get more)-sarcasm

  • and here he bitches about money poor rich people they must get more

  • i want that Stanley steam car

  • Shit, Jay Leno is smart, I never knew. Love steam punk!

  • FORD POWER! I love Fords they have always been a good value where you get alot of bang for your buck. I think of all the Fords I have had, how much I spent for and on them, and have little and cost trouble they are to maintain. I think of all the money I have save and good time I have driving them and it puts a big ole smill on my face. :)

  • @TheCottonTop Heck yes. My mother drives a 2001 Windstar with almost 200K miles on the odo. It's not falling apart at all. Everything works as it should.

  • That guy must have shit loads of money ._.

  • He should like get a car show if he doesn't have one already, I'm very surprised how knowledgeable he is on cars.

  • How can anyone possibly make Brough Superior into "Bro Superior"?

  • LA roads are bad? You obviously haven't seen Oakland roads.

  • I saw a Model T the other day, and I couldn't stop staring at it. XD It was so beautiful.

  • That song in the beginning makes me feel like I should be expecting a man in a black dress with a massive sword to show up while I'm on my way to blow up the reactors.

  • I my drive Model T.... Not everyday, but offen. I love it! Jay is right! It get great milage. If it break down, I can ALWAYS limp it home. Parts are VERY easy to get! I drive her... 5 - 7 times a month. She is a great car! Thumbs up where ever I go!

  • I can totally picture him dressed in 19th or early 20th century finery driving one of those cars... With goggles and all...

  • I love how he has a multi-million dollar world class automotive museum, but he can still refer to it as his "garage" because he tinkers around in it just like a normal guy would in a normal garage.

  • you would have been a heck of a model t sales man now i want one and i don't even like fords im a die hard chevy man.

  • they made me watch a charity cars... wtf...

  • 00:01

  • Comment removed

  • They should bring back the Model T . It would sell. And for 2500, it would sell a lot.

  • @stayjit1 meh idk. It's one of those models that should remain vintage. With the way things are right now with companies, they would change it in some way shape or form.

  • i could listen to Jay Leno talk about cars forever!!

  • So after listening to that first 5 mins who wants a model T? I know I do.

  • @rdjp89 oh man. I've always wanted one. Model T's and Model A's are amazing!

  • @arakano I totally agree...I mean I'm only 20 but I love the style.

  • @rdjp89 same here! I'm 22 and this era is awesome in my opinion!

  • what dose this have to do w steam punk????

... pretty cool vid... stupid title

  • steam punk, nicely done.

  • lol. Did he put Matt in his place when they were talking the value of the Model T?

  • I love the steam engine stuff. I've become a huge fan of steam, and it's great to see so many toys in one place! I'm trying to build a multiple expansion engine from old junk weed eaters and a pressure cooker, and it's a blast. I'd love to see more of his steam collection :)

  • Im still tryin to get my parents (when i get my license) to get me a Model A.

  • Being a funny man can make you millions hope he looks after what hes bought

  • love the last line about people that only love supercars don't love cars. becuse there are somany cool cars out there, even an old everyday mans car from the 40's 50's 60's is a cool car. something that wasn't worth a whole lot back then like a 66 Volvo 122S small, quick, and really reliable with style to boot.

  • wait did he just say that our nuclear subs are still steam last time i checked our nuclear subs ran off of a nuclear reactor

  • @spymasterwade nuclear reactors ARE steam. the nuclear reaction is very hot, that heats up the water, and that hot water heats up other water so there's not radioactive steam. The steam then powers the rest of the engine and such.

  • @shilohphoenix o gotcha but they run silently how is that

  • @spymasterwade They don't run completely silently. Most nuclear subs have noisy coolant pumps and turbo systems that run on exhaust that are pretty loud. some american subs have diesel electric nuclear steam systems that run with their coolant pumps secured and they have some more insulated engine stuff to run with les noise. They don't run completely silently unless they're purely battery powered. (I'm not a nuclear engineer, I'm a musician btw haha)

  • @spymasterwade - it'd be good that they're quiet. if they weren't powered by nuclear of course.

  • 0:01

  • Please, Jay!!! Get a new shirt. We're tired of the blue denim already!

  • that 10hp steam engine is very cool.

  • Awesome. Pure awesome.

  • why are the ads all anime?

  • yea this guys a real meat head. WTF it feels like he's having a hard time building a conversational rythm with jay

  • there no water pumps theres no oil filter the car is bulletproof there are no water pumps the car is bullet proof the car is bulletproof theres no water pumps and there is no repetition

  • google ads= lame

  • Right on Jay, steam rules.

  • This interview prompts me to ask:

Why can't someone remake the Model-T?

More importantly, why hasn't anyone advanced the steam-powered car using more modern technology? I wouldn't mind at all having a car capable of that kind of power, fueled by gas, diesel, alcohol, CNG, or a coal or wood-burning fire; whatever's available.

Heat the boiler by burning the sawdust generated in sawmills, or from wood alcohol made from the same waste material.

(unlike corn, we don't eat wood).

  • @Hiraghm instead of asking why cant someone else? ask how can i.. thats the problem with this world no one wants to do they just want to have

  • @imask8r RIGHT ON RIGHT ON RIGHT dadgum ON!!

  • @dingoboy5150 lol i know ive had an apifiny or however your spell it

  • To be honest I would love to own one of these. or a steam powered car though the former would be rather temper mental and I'm not nice to temper-mental pieces of machinery

  • this guy is a douche bag, like legit not Jay, the other one

  • like baker electric

  • this interviewer is such a douchebag tool - who the hell thought it would be a good idea to hire him?

  • @gynecolog1st LOL. You're harsh. I have to say you're right that Jay's more experienced on TV than the interviewer is.

  • sweet fing kool as hell i want one so bad now that i know i can afford it.

  • You can tell how much he loves everything to do with cars just by how he talks about them. Such sincerity in what he says, so different to his tonight show persona I reckon.

  • the one places i whould love to be there

  • whats with the eerie music?

  • Bring back the corn fuelled Model T !!

  • Most people don't know this, but during the Conan-Jay time-slot battle, the Repo Men came in and took all of Jay's cars. Apparently he negotiated with the bank and was able to keep his 2002 Ford Taurus wagon so he can go get groceries.

    Sad.

  • It`s PorschE! :D

  • newyork motorclub? what? garage 419

  • badass, ford model t's are my fav J rules

  • actually the original idea was for farmers to use their marijuana crops to make hemp ethanol to run the model t's not corn

  • Jay is the coolest tv host ever. Even if he didn't have the smarts to go along with it, just look at what he spends his money on! That's an intelligent guy there. He beats Oprah times a trillion.

  • @SkyCaptainAubrey Everyone should beat up oprah!!!

  • @BigAndTall666 She need to give more money to charity, because she has done nothing cool with it yet.

  • Wow. Nifty garage Jay. I'd sure like to build a modern closed crankcase poppet valve steamer using some superht. It'd sure be torquey.

  • Wretched excess.

  • Jay is like an expert on cars! If the tonight show tanks he can just run a car shop? I wish i had his money!!? I would buy a Challenger!!!!

  • The dude interviewing is an idiot. The sideburns are are a dead give away.

  • @joscobo "oh really" x100

  • bullet proof

  • The guy interviewing Jay is less than smart.

  • therudeone11.....I completely agree.

  • he keeps emphasizing that it was bulletproof... he might need it

  • Nobody watches the ads, I personally just scroll down and read the comments during the advertisements. You are wasting your money, you hear?

  • ah-um fluff125 dear, you realize the advertisers are the ones paying for your chance to share with the world your brilliantly insightful comments, right?

no advertisers mean you would have to do homework or something productive with your idle time. Don't kick them in the shines for subsidizing our boredom:-)

  • Good history.

  • Totally Cool

    Thank You

  • DAMN HE KNOWS HIS HISTORY

  • Wow, I have a whole new look on Jay, along with huge respect to his knowledge of cars old & new.

He's the kind of guy that would be quiet at first, but when you warm up to him, he could talk about cars for hours and hours. Now thats my kinda person! I have a bunch of friends that like cars, but whenever I talk about anything older than 1999, they get lost. I can't help but hold a lot admiration for the old cars, and those who drove them.

Makes me proud to have his first name :)

  • 112.3 billion barrels of oil left undrilled in US....we use 7.2 billion barrels per yr in US. = 15.6yrs of oil left in US. that aint "plenty" loboalapuerta

  • WOW! You were all of 18yrs old in 1979! And unimpressed by data concerning US oil depletion....I'm shocked! LOL. But what does humor me is your loquacious excerpt of the vernacular "goofy." F*n genious. Truly inspiring...thanks for the modicum of entertainment.

  • Apathy will eventually put you to sleep. Wake up. it's 40 years later.

  • We use gas instead of ethanol because of Rockefeller's push for gasoline through monetarily backing the prohibition movement....which made any use of alcohol illegal. Why sell someone technology that uses energy that can't be regulated/charged?...that was Rockefeller's scheme. And now we're on the precipice of a total change in energy technologies...or complete cicil colapse due to our addiction to a fading resourse.

  • 112.3 billion barrels of oil left undrilled in US....we use 7.2 billion barrels per yr in US. = 15.6yrs of oil left in US. that aint "plenty" loboalapuerta

  • my dad drove a 26 t touring for his DD for about 20 years. if your mechanically inclined it is a very economical car.

  • take a shot for every time he says "bulletproof".

  • i want to chill with jay!

  • the timing is off

  • Yes, Gerazzi likes cars too...

    This is a shock, no?

  • Jay is a bit tense but else good knowledge!

  • This 'presenter' seems somewhat unprofessional.

  • lil bit

  • Jay Leno can teach this guy how to host this show!

  • Jay Leno seems a lot cooler in this environment. Knows his stuff too. Good video.

  • jay seemed stiff until the very end. Jay Leno's garage is so awesome.

  • i hate that jay doesnt laugh at other people's jokes- he does this all the time... i dont know, its annoying to me

  • well maybe there just not funny lol and he dosent just laugh at not funny joys lol that .

  • does anyone know the name of THIS steam engine?

I'm looking forward to some information...

  • are you talking about the Stanley steamer?

  • No, not the engine in the car, but the one he operates with compressed air.

  • oh sorry im not sure about that one.

  • no problem :)

  • I am 90% certain that this is a Stanley Steam engine. It matches the Schematic drawing in a book called A Complete Description of the Stanley Steam Car. I picked this book up at the gift shop at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado. They have a Stanley in the main lobby and several exhibits on the engine and boiler units. Well worth the trip if you are into steam.

  • Well... I'm hoping to get there once, but for now, America is a long way from here (Belgium).

But thanks on the information, I'll try to look it up on the internet now that I know it's a Stanley engine.

    Cheers

  • Matt you seem stoned.

  • nine inch nails ghosts ftw!!

  • who is he i seen him around and stuff but why is he rich?

  • he has his own nighttime talk show of some sort

  • oh ok

  • comedian

  • This guy once told me he took an old model T engine apart and it had a wood piston in it. Said the engine ran fine.

  • My father was an antique automobile restorer. The cars that he restored were the 1927 Model T and the 1929 Model A , plus a few Fords that were in between those dates. He let me drive some of them when I was a young man. My favorite car to drive was the 1927 Model T Ford. Jay Leno is correct when He states that the Model T was built so well, and a blast to drive. Even if it was at only 45 Miles Per Hour.

  • i never knew jay leno was the shit

  • lol he owns a crap load of cars...

  • Oh, to be a friend of Jay Leno...A friend who needs a car every once and a while, that is :P

    Stunning collection.

  • I have some new respect for Jay Leno.

  • So...what does Jay's long-lost brother, Lonesome Bob, do for a living?

  • Great! be residing in LA next June =)

  • he has some nice fucking cars

  • i'd love to be born in JAy's garage...=)

  • lol

  • Jays garage is nuts. He has a motorcycle with a jet turbine engine. What the hell... He's a cool guy too. Just a Detroiter at heart. Detroit loves ya Jay.

  • yea (cant remember too many detail) in a magazine i read that a land speed record that was made long time ago was 200 something mph (im sure its much higher now but at the time thats what it was) and it was done with a steam car.

  • Yep they've actually broken the speed of sound now.

  • oh bad ass

  • Damn, 3L 4Cyl? Wow.

  • It's not that redicilous... I mean, 7 litre 8cyl is normal...

  • Yeah, you're right about that...but I mean, what's the biggest 4cyl today? 2.5L in the Subi, is the biggest one I can think of. I guess what I'm more amazed by, is that anyone ever made a 3L, 4cyl. But yeah, I guess in thinking about it...it's not that crazy.

  • look at the z06

  • Yeah i was saying that basically xD

  • He's drunk.

  • Steam engines are lovely things, good video.

  • You no can speak english gud
