  • @RedChuck38

  • ROCK & ROLL!!!!!

  • 1:48 DAVE GILMOUR!!!!?!

  • This is a classic.

  • Genius performing

  • Paulie estas komo kieres!!!!

  • OMG! I like it but this is more overblown and self-indulgent its contemporary 'Tusk'. Sorry, I love Paul and all but the 'Too many cooks' idiom springs to mind upon hearing this.

  • @MichaelMacer You are fundamentally wrong.

  • @Roriniho

I so agree with you. This type of gathering, beyond the performance, is to far and in between the norm.

  • Bonham lights up the end

  • MUSICIANS: Linda (keyboard)& Paul McCartney (piano/guitar),Denny Laine, & Laurence Juber =Wings. Dave Gilmour, Hank Marvin & Pete Townshend (guitars), Steve Holley, John Bonham, & Kenney Jones (drums), John P. Jones, Ronnie Lane, Bruce Thomas (bass). Gary Brookery & Tony Ashton (keyboards), Speedy Acquaye, Tony Carr, Ray Cooper, & Morris Pert (percussion), Howie Casey, Tony Dorsey, Steve Howard, & Thaddeus Richard (horns) .Ringo drummed in the live concert only. Keith Moon died B4 recording

  • "ROckestra Thene" was recorded in studio 1978 for Wings' 1979 "back to the Egg Album". The Rockestra performed this osng "rockestra Theme" as well as "Lucille" (lead vocals by Paul) and backed Paul on "Hey Jude" live at the charity "Rock for Kampuchea" concert in 1979. The band ("Rockestra" ). Musicians who performed on this song also played on the Wings song "So Glad To See You Here" on the album. "Rockestra Theme" won the 1980 Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

man members of the best bands in history!!!!!

  • ... 1.03 Laurence Juber ?

  • Paul should have kept going in this direction, but in a few years we would get Ebony & Ivory "snore"

  • Paul should have kept going in this direction, but in a few years we would get Ebony & Ivory "snore"

  • La Banda de los Sueños! Qué gran verdad demianbeatle! gracias!

  • Go Bonzo: your drumming is tht only one I can hear!! . I hope you are allright wereever you are.

  • I've always wondered what is being sung during the break at the chorus?

  • @crapple009 They sing "Why haven't I had any dinner"

  • @dan567161 Many thanks, never knew that. I guess that line was in reference to the plight of the Kampuchian people?

  • @estud7 I highly doubt it since Lennon never came back to England when he left for America in the early 70's

  • Great, just great so cool to my rock heroes together, leave it to sir Paul to arrange something like this.

  • Wow GREAT stuff. I never saw John Bonham play any other kit besides his ludwig kits,The kit he is playing was a Staccato kit cool.. I wonder where that kit is today????RIP John

  • You are crrect sir! Pete`s orange Gretch is the one he used during the recording of Won`t Get Fooled Again....

  • je l'ai vu en concert...quelle déception!

  • Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who.....together!!!.....fuck!!!

  • Lol, I know. That was very special. With just one reason being that John Bonham passed only a year later. As I think about it more, that was extremely special, that gathering :)

  • I wish he had invited Bill Ward and Tony Iommi instead. I like Black Sabbath better than Led.

But it doesn´t really matter. To me, Paul is the most talented man in the world.

    Long live Macca!

  • Which Townshend smashed in a rage during the 70's and had repaired. Walsh also gave a guitar to Jimmy Page too.

  • @scottyj1832 Smashing Gretsches (and Rickenbackers) just ain't the right thing to do. Especially a vintage one that was given as a gift. Ouch, Pete!

  • what a amazing!!!

  • All those great musicians...

    And then there's Linda.

  • it repeats too much but it's still great!

  • get that other guy outa there, isn't bonham enough drums for this song?

  • It was supposed to be Keith Moon... but he died. So they got Kenney Jones, who was the Who's new drummer at the time.

  • What's up with Guilmore's guitar?, why looks so old?

  • ok ok it rosks and i love Macca but don't ya think that bach's toccata rocks much better, for example? that "rockestra" is quite poor

  • EPICO!

  • What a fuckin Jam!

  • are the guitars doing unison bends?

  • i guess yes!

  • fucking great pauly..

  • that was fucking brilliant to see my heroes in one studio! dammit, Paul McCartney (The Beatles) John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) Pete Townshend (The Who)! what a team! and this song rocks!

  • you've forgottenjohn paul jones ;) he was there too

  • I don't understand the hate for this song... it's not supposed to be complicated or deep, it was just a chance for a bunch of talented rock stars to jam together on a simple instrumental

  • You are so right mate!! I think this is a kick ass intrumental that is classic British rock!! How about this for some Rock n Roll trivia, Paul McCartney has played with some of best Rock drummers of all time; Ringo of course!, John Bonham, Ian Paice, Jeff Pocaro, Ginger Baker to name just a few!!

  • Awesome...and when many did this live for the concert for Kampuchea.....awesome!

  • Remember the moment - and that was a very long time ago back in '83 or so - when I heard the live version from the 'Concert for Campuchea' on the radio along with 'Lucille'. Those were the days when we used to sit in front of the speakers pushing the record button of the tape machine and trying to catch great music. That was amazing. Good to hear it again.

  • Rockestra Theme, one of Paul McCartney's harder-rocking songs Denny Laine, Laurence Juber, David Gilmour, Hank Marvin, Pete Townshend (guitars), Steve Holly, John Bonham, Kenney Jones (drums), Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones (pianos), Ronnie Lane, Bruce Thomas (bass guitars), Gary Brooker, Linda McCartney, Tony Ashton (keyboards), Speedy Acquaye, Tony Carr, Ray Cooper, Morris Pert (percussion), Howie Casey, Tony Dorsey, Steve Howard, Thaddeus Richard (horns).

  • I turned on the subtitles on my "wingspan" dvd and the lyrics read "why haven't I had any dinner".

  • what a band...

  • "With a bird in the hand he says: why no dinner?"

  • what do they sing? "With a bird in the hand henry made love all night long"?

  • RIP Ronnie Lane

  • One of the best songs from Back To The Egg

This song is amazing, those who say it's shit should get there freakin ears cleaned

  • it's good to be paul mccartney, the one and only

  • what drumset is Bonzo on? Definately not his green sparkle Ludwig kit.

  • there's David Gilmour too!

  • BACK TO THE EGG is the Best

  • PROXIMO SHOW CON THE BELADIES

Viernes 8 de junio en The Cavern Club

    Corrientes 1660, Capital.

  • Roger Taylor didn't play on this session in December of '79. Queen were on the "Crazy Tour" in England but they played the Kampuchea benefit(sp) show later that month at the end of their tour on 12-26-79 as a headline act at the Hammersmith Odeon.

  • Ah yes, the famed Kampuchea concerts. I thought the Crazy Tour was a summer tour...ah well, I trust you.

  • Was that the early Roger Taylor (drummer, Queen) I saw? Long-haired chap, somewhere in the middle of the video. Can't be bothered to give you an exact time.

  • es muy repetivivo, q lastima podria aver sido algo mucho mejor

  • well one of those drummers is Kenny Jones of the Faces fame and later the Who.but the other must be from Wings.but yes Bonzo is all that was needed...

  • Why the hell do you need two drummers when Bonzo's in the house?

  • your absolutely right, the only drummer who deserves to play alongside Bonzo is Keith Moon, but hes dead. i think they should of taken the other guy out and let bonzo do his thing.

  • @rlka1992 Take out the other two, add Ringo and let him and Bonzo go to town. I don't think there are two other drummers that hit harder.

  • it's great to see bonzo!!! he is the greatest drummer who ever lived! no other will ever beat him!

  • It wasn't so usual that days a lot of musicians playing together, now with a lot of charity concerts we can see them together.I am not satisfied with the camera direction, just a second for a take of many players, not the best song of McCartney but easy to everyone to play it...or don't you remember the name of his first band? i guess :)

  • by the way, what's a "dillution"?

  • You all need to move out from your mom's basement. Dispite your dillutions stemming from loneliness, you are NOT on a nickname-basis with any of the people in this video...

  • it's especially annoying at :27, where it appears that McCartney has the nerve to instruct Bonzo on how to execute a drum fill...now go back to listening to your copy of "Standing Stone", while you weep silently.

  • It's Paul's tune and he arranged it. That is what arrangers tend to do. Event the greatest drummers take arrangment instruction.

  • yea, Bonzo and Jonesy were the coolest dudes there , they're both the fucking shit.

  • Bonzo & Jonesy give it some street cred...McCartney is a monumental dweeb

  • Umm...Pete Townshend is there along with members of The Pretenders, etc. I think there is more than enough "street cred" there.

  • Bonzo and Jonesy are the only ones I was really paying attention to.

  • For all the potential musical muscle there, that song is utterly underwhelming.

  • Wings on 'Roids.

I hope that's not the best they could come up with.

  • Truly horrible

  • your gay

  • Awesome song and soo many good musicians.

def Paul, Pete, Gilmour and Bono are awesome together

  • BONZO!!!!!

  • Gave me chills. I wanna join the band.
