Tremendous delivery by a fantastic bowler, Wasin Akram. However, in pre-DRS days, and given that the laws say that the benefit of the doubt has to go to the batter, I think the umpire was within his rights to say "not out", as the naked eye suggests that the batter Robert Croft might possibly have got a faint age. It didn't matter too much anyway, since from memory Pakistan thrashed England in that match (as usually occurred in the 1990s)

Akram - total legend and my favourite fast bowler - it was like I almost scared just watching him on TV! Batters didn't like that fast arm action and seemingly both batters and umpires didn't like that late, late swing. It looks like the late swing was just too good for the umpire who consequently made his decision based on the angle of delivery alone.

The ball was moving across -with the angle bowled- and (without knowledge of reverse swing) it looked to be missing leg. It is obvious in the replay; but, in real time it looked like missing leg.
