I approve of the music. It was done well (minus the slight EQ and volume issues that a previous poster mentioned), and if you want to listen to it without the music then you can find the clips elsewhere. Might as well make something new and creative, yeah? Maybe for first-time listeners it's not the best approach, but for people who have listened numerous time the music gives a new perspective. Lighten up folks. Life is music!
Show us YOUR contribution to humanity. In the meantime, I'd rather listen to a genius like Watts, not just this prose-clip out of context. His books and talks on death and dying in lieu of perception about death etc., amazingly compelling; insightful and comforting to so many who get stuck in the suffering.
to the people attempting to slander Alan Watts, he was not a drunken idiot or a douchebag. I don't understand why you want to spew absolutely fabricated accusations about him, unless you're just trolling. He was a brilliant and articulate man, whether you agree with what he said or not, and he was successful in explaining points of view to westerners who were so conditioned as to seem unreachable. Actually look at some of his work before you disrespect
I think I should become a great philosopher. I will go spout pseudo-science using grammar like Dr. Seuss and I am certain people will agree I am a genius too!
I like your music, Brandon, but I feel it detracts from these recordings, and actually runs contrary to their Zen spirit. It's like smothering a delicious meal in hot sauce. I'm a musician, myself, and love music. But there's a time to just listen. I mean this in the most constructive sense possible, so please don't think I'm criticizing your creativity. It would be better to create something new, rather than overshadow the words of this great philosopher. Thanks.
@Brandonian3030 dont be sorry.. people add music to dress something up... im guessing you watched the video so try to understand that instead of seing a black and white message... we as the funny little beings we are add pieces of whatever (in this case music) to make a message perhaps more understandable, or even enjoyable or maybe just more beautiful.. point is.. it doesnt matter, his words are not tainted.. his perspective not ruined, so no damage is done.. cheers
This is EXACTLY my point of view ... for some reason ... But , i still think that well ... going to school aint much about sucess (for me that is) ... I dont really do things for sucess ... i do it for knowledge ... Because I do love knowledge ... I love new insights ... old ones ... i understand and thats all ... Anyway ,great video . I wish i could express Myself like this alan watts guy
3:40 mistake. he sais 2 million. he means 2 billion. but even then they would've known earth is on to something. 3.5 billion years ago they may not have suspected us to "apple".
We thought it was just rocks, but now it's peopling!!! hahahahah1!!!

It bother's me that someone thought to title this "Atheist Spirituality." Putting those two words together makes neither of them any more appealing.

What does this have anything to do with atheism??

why is the title "Athiest" Spirituality?

@Brandonian3030 - you just needed to mix the narration by Mr. Watts a little louder than the music; he could've used a little EQ, too...
benjbass32 5 months ago
I agree. His voice says it all. And the words, of course. The 'music' is just destracting.
