As a performer myself, I still struggle with fear, and I think it's what keeps us on edge and makes some of the better performances. Your speech at the closing ceremonies was (for me) a big highlight. I'm a longtime fan of the Winter Games (mostly because I love the alpine skiing and some of the nordic events) & most of it was a disappointment (coverage-wise -- the games themselves were great) but your part of the closing ceremonies was a highlight for me, even as an American. You got style!

Bill, thank you for that; It shows humility and character for you to share with us that you were scared & that longtime performers battle nerves too - it give humanness & class to an area where that is lacking when a lot of other performers will just get up there and spew whatever comes to mind without discretion, and that you are actually aware of it and key in on your fears shows you are of a superior mindset in that regard and conscientious of not being perfect, but of being a perfectionist.
